Wildlife Hunters Association of Colorado has a range out in Brighton, about 30 minutes from Longmont, that is pretty darned decent. They have a contingent of action pistoleros, plus rifle ranges out to 400 yards.
Dues are $275 to start out, and as of last week, they didn't have a waiting list to join.

I'm going to have to check this place out in person. I've been looking for a good range for awhile now.
Google maps says about 1 hour from Boulder and Longmont from the directions I got from the website.

We have quite a few members from the Boulder/Longmont area that have chosen to join our range because the wait list at the Boulder Rifle Club is a bit long and it would take them several years to earn a spot at that range.
Cysoto, are memberships still available ? What kind of activities are allowed, like USPSA / IPSC practice ?

Wow, lots of questions!! :) Let me try to address them all...
We have two monthly pistol competitions that are open to non-members. One of them is a Bowling Pins Shoot that we hold on the first Saturday of every month and the other is a Defensive Pistol Match that is shot on the fourth Saturday of every month. This last one follows the rules and guidelines of IDPA but with two variations: we don't enforce the use of a cover garment and we only load magazines with eight rounds each (we have a lot of 1911 shooter and they don't want to be beat by the "10-rounders"). We allow and encourage members to setup and practice courses of fire that require movement (IDPA/USPSA style). I try to make it to the range at least twice a week to practice some "run-and-gunning" and I always love when I can meet up with some of our members to practice these. There is a lot that I can learn when someone is looking and pointing out mistakes that I may be inadvertently doing. (You would think that with all this practice I would be a better shooter but sadly I am still a lowly "B" shooter).
Guests are most certainly allowed at the range. We ask of them to please read and sign a waiver form and to wear an ID cards that identifies them as 'VISITOR'. There is no charge to them but they must be accompanied by a member.
We don't have a full-time Range Officer but I live really close to the range so anytime a person would like to come visit us for a tour, I am happy to accompany them; they just need to call me to setup an appointment (my phone number is on our website). The other option is to come visit us at one of our schedule events which, like I mentioned before, are open to non-members.

Sounds great, I was looking for a outdoor range around Denver but I guess i could drive for 1 hour

I'm a relatively newcomer to Broomfield (Colorado for that matter) and I've been trying to find places to shoot. I went to North site several times but recently found out it has been closed... I went into national forests a couple of times but with all the hikers, people on bikes / quads I just don't think it is safe for anyone.
This range sounds great to me, only about 30 miles from where I live, with combat style range and 400 yd rifle range to boot. [Beer] One question I have is, are they friendly with AR's and other "Scary looking, non-PC" weapons, and is there a restriction on 1 round per second kind of rule? I like to do double taps (or the occasional mag dumps) but I keep my rounds on the target.

I have never heard any negative comment. Many people there seem to be positively interested, or they just do not care as long as you act reasonably.
We are quite fond of all firearms; especially the "very scary ones"! And no, we have no restrictions against rapid fire.
The only type of restriction that we have has to do with ammo. In order to avoid the risk of sparking the weeds around the range on fire, we ask our members to please refrain from shooting incendiary, concussive, or explosive rounds (i.e. Tracer Rounds).
