Dressed like a first-grader.

I don't spend a lot of time contemplating clothing choices in day-to-day life. 90% of my work is spent in a uniform that makes me look like a Target employee, and the other 10% is spent in a suit. Around town, I tend towards cargo pants and a button-down shirt that conceals my gun/gut. My t-shirts are mostly Shot Show promo items from 2005-2010. The last t-shirt I actually bought with my own money was a COAR shirt. Today, however, as I was putting away laundry, I realized half of my t-shirts are Super Hero shirts now.

I'm talking Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, Flash, etc... In fact, I am wearing a Superman shirt as I type. I was never that big a fan of the superhero genre; I read comic books as a kid, but it was all GI Joe. Aside from 1989 Michael Keaton Batman, I don't recall being particularly pumped for a superhero movie or TV show of any kind. I've watched them when they have come on the television, and I saw the first Ironman in an actual theater, but I haven't gone out of my way to identify with the Super Hero genre. And yet, I have the whole Justice League in my shirt drawer.

I realize what has happened is that when my wife buys a shirt for my son, she thinks it is funny or cute for us to match, so she buys the same shirt for me. I also realize the path this is headed down, where I will soon be the Dad at the roller-rink rocking the bright yellow Pokemon t-shirt despite being over 40 and believing that Pokemon is just animated cock fighting for children. Is the desire to dress people alike just inherent in the female genome? And if so, why not choose to dress my son like an old man?

I'm tempted to replenish the rag stock in my gun cleaning box in a passive-aggressive counter-strike, but then I might not get my afternoon juice box and fruit roll-up.

Most of my clothes come from the charity thrift stores. Admittedly conservative clothes. I do have one set of Sesame Street boxers. Don't feel alone. All my other clothes are military uniforms. Sometimes I just wear parts of the uniforms. I have yet to be confronted on stolen valor.Unfortunately I have no Super Hero t-shirts. Is it nap time yet?

I would draw the line at pokemon.

I don't normally wear superhero stuff, but for Christmas, my kids gave me a Captain America shirt that said "World's Greatest Dad". Now THAT I wear all the time when I'm not dressing for work.

We all get stuck in a rut ... I've noticed (or rather my wife has noticed) that about all I seem to wear these days are plaid (90% of them western cut) short sleeve shirts untucked with a color coordinated t-shirt under it. For pants, 70% of the time jeans, 20% of the time cargo shorts (yes, year round) and 10% of the time khakis/cargo pants. Apparently I'm supposed to "do something" about this now (so I've added a couple solid Dickie's work shirts to the rotation :p ).

While most of my tees are printed, none of them are cartoon or superhero.

My wife has made a concerted decades-long effort to rid my wardrobe of any shirts that feature a logo of any kind - and success is now within reach. It's fair to say she's far more tasteful in her style of attire than I am.

My wife knows better. Of course we don't have kids (yet), so that could change. Most of my wardrobe is polos, 5.11 pants, and either Grunt Style or Nine Line Apparel. I do have a few shirts I got from charity events, like the MC-1 Foundation Honor Run I do every year.

Have you tried a Magpul mega blend t?

Charcoal seems to be better than light gray.

I not a fan of the matching shirts, however my niece (30 years old) came to CO and we did a trip to Yellowstone. She got us Bob's wife, bob's son ( times 2), bob's niece and bob's son's girlfriend shirts. Of course I wore the Bob shirt with protest as i got the "wear it or else" look from "Bob's wife".

As much as I hate to admit it we had a great time with the shirts. I had several people come up to me with kind comments, telling us how nice the family was and how great the kids were. One lady noted that they had been seeing the shirts around the park that day and came over to introduce herself so that she could "meet Bob".

Funny post OP. My EDW (Every Day Wardrobe) for work is jeans and Carharrt pocket t-shirts with company logo. Same thing for off days...just no company logo. Sometimes when I'm feeling real crazy I'll sub shorts for jeans.

Like the OP, I have somehow amassed quite the collection of superhero t-shirts. And my youngest kid is almost 26 so I know it wasn't so he and I would match. (Although, he and I went to pick up some food one day and as we left the house we noticed that we both had similar Deadpool shirts on. We both pretty much gave zero f**ks so off we went. When we get to the place to get the food the first thing the girl behind the counter notices and comments on is that we are wearing similar shirts and wanted to know if we did that on purpose.)

As I was reading this thread I realized I was wearing one of my Star Wars shirts. Not exactly superheroes but close.

There are many different takes on this, but this kind of echos my thoughts and is one of the reasons why I don't own any t-shirts with any firearm related brands or sayings (or have anything on my car). Ha, that made my day!

Before the divorce I wore sweatpants and hoodies. In the summer basketball style shorts and t-shirts. Now that I'm back on the market I wear a lot of more "fashionable" clothing as long as I can still ccw in it. No skinny jeans, but my sister and cousin made me buy pant that fit and aren't so baggy. I still like to wear funny (at least to me) t-shirts. Oh how being single will make you go back to the gym, loose 25lbs, and dress like you care!!! Just get a divorce if you want a style change, though I don't recommend it!

As a child of the 70s, Star Wars was my jam. But it's either not what the kids are into these days, or they are into the Millineal Falcon version with angsty Darth-lite and where every character feels perfectly entitled to provide input on the battle plan despite being employed by the Rebellion for a hot minute. I'm pretty sure Darth-Angst got extra time on tests at Jedi Academy.

My off-work wear consists mostly of the Cabelas Rough-Neck line of button-down in solid colors, and the Carhartt plaid button-downs. I work a very white-collar job, but my wife says my clothing choices indicate I always really wanted to be a farm-hand or a forest ranger.
Both of us are on our second marriages, and this one will end in the death of one of us, with a 50% chance that the surviving spouse will be the defendant. So a divorce-inspired makeover is unlikely any time soon.

Dress for success, park like shyt

I've ended up with tons of t-shirts from work that I end up wearing all the time. They're all pretty lame but they out number the shirts I've chosen like 3-1. I've reached the age where I just don't really care. I get the "why are you wearing a google (biggest client) shirt" all the time. At work it's always jeans, sneakers and a long sleeve collared shirt. On date night or for an event or something I have some really nice clothes, custom tailored shirts and stuff. In high school I had to wear shirt and tie, tucked in, slacks, non sneakers so I really don't like dressing up because of that.

After 20 years as a Scout leader I can't believe how many t-shirts I have that are Scout related !!!!

About 20 years ago, do you guys remember Looney Tunes ties?
I use to have 2, and wore it at least once a week. During the 90s, lots of people wore that ties on friday. Last time I wore these were in the 98 or 99.

I think they had a late freeze in Florida somewhere and it really screwed up the Cheetos crop this year.

I have never been one to throw away good clothing. I usually wear something until worn out before I buy more. In the last two years I have been changing the way I eat and exercise and I have lost weight so my newest clothes no longer fit. My wife went digging through boxes of old clothes and found me some jeans and shirts that I last wore in 2001. I have gone from a hard to get on size 46 to a loose 42 and my gun belts are too big now. By the fall I expect to fit back into my size 40 that I last wore in 1998.

I can actually fit into some of my old XL t-shirts and my XXL are almost like a tent.

Almost all of my t-shirts have something to do with motorcycles, Triumph and Harley mostly, dirt bike stuff mixed in.
