Just announced business as usual on Sunday. We'll see !!!!
So they're telling you in advance they plan on losing?
What is "business as usual"?
Nothing sends a signal of strength/unity like flip flopping every week on your "stance". Just saying...
Too late as far as I am concerned
Who???
Time to exemplify the freedom that makes this country great by making a bunch of people do something against their will for our enjoyment.
Operational damage control.
So are you one who believes an employer can't decide how an employee will act while representing the employer? Do you actually think this is a 1st Amend issue?
I guaran-damn-tee if you were my employee you'd be picking up your last check if you pulled a stunt like that on my time.
This is a great example of corporate cluelessness. Someone must have suggested this stance a long time ago and they were probably fired or forced to attend some sensitivity class. Now it comes back to bite them in the ass. I really LIKED watching the NFL and keeping up with the standings. Not anymore.
These idiots should have taken this stance a year ago. You are one of them Elway, along with all the other head coaches and owners. You had plenty of time to change things and chose not to do it.
Screw them. I hope they end up like arena football and fall flat on their faces.
I am choosing to watch the excellent PBS series on the Vietnam War. Reality. All played out on a real battlefield. My heroes don't collect millions while playing a game. Never have been. Last week forced a decision on my part. I will now have a lot of free time on Sundays.
^^^^ THIS ^^^^
C'mon Ridge, you should know better than to bring that argument. There is no force. Intellectually dishonest and emotionally driven.
While the business owner is absolutely the decider, he has customers to serve.
With TV ratings on the decline the value of each franchise will decline as well.
Will be interesting to see how much shrinkage of their industry they will tolerate .
If you're unarmed you are a victim
The left, when triggered, typically function on emotion only....
Yawn.
Don't GAF about pro ball. Not making me change my mind.
They have the 1st amendment write to be an idiot. I also have the right to not GAS.
No change in my life.
Every time I think you've made your most ridiculous argument ever...you surprise me.
Even you should be able, on your own, to figure out why that argument is a non-starter. Hint: it's already been made on this forum and was handily shot down by several members using valid and logical reasoning.
I'm not sure what all of the fuss is about. I don't care if people sit, stand, kneel, fly a confederate flag, worship orange cats or otherwise. I think about it for a moment and then move on.
I think that Americans are obsessed with finding ways to make other Americans do what they want them to do.
And I personally find the practice to be un-American.
Now... back to trying to find an orange cat to adopt.
Wow...got this from FoxNews:
Broncos to Stand
"While there's no greater country, it's not perfect. Inequalities still exist, and we have work to do in ALL forms of social justice
We can all do better."
The NFL has been completely co-opted by the left. It's plain as day.
I'll guarantee none of the kneelers are kneeling at home when they hear and see the Anthem on their television. Samey same. I don't stand up with hand over heart, and hat off at home for the TV, but when in Public you're damn right I do no matter where I'm at, no matter what's going on.
I do fly the Stars and Stripes from right next to my front door, decals on my vehicles, at work, and on my person at times. I've been disgusted by things in this country for decades on end, have ideas and wishes about better stuff, I've felt like protesting many negative actions by our citizens....and lots of other stuff that could be listed here...
As disgusted as I have been with a lot of stuff over the years, I have never wanted to, or even considered publically or privately doing anything that would desecrate and defile our Anthem, or the Flag under which it flies. America means a lot of things to a lot of differently minded people, but that should NEVER include being disgraceful to our customs or procedure and honor regarding it.
I see misguided minds try and twist the freedom and sacrifice that it represents, into selfish "freedoms of expression". The 2017 NFL version isn't any different than all the ones ahead of it, or all the ones that will be behind it.
Lame ass statement from the Broncos and Elway. If Elway really believed it, he should have said something when they talked about kneeling last week. I don't really care, will do something more meaningful on Sunday like laundry or cleaning the toilets.
I kinda hate to add to this now, I'm over it....but this is what Anheuser-Busch replied to me with after I told them what I thought about them sponsoring etc, etc, etc,...
Thank you for your email, we always appreciate your feedback from our consumers and take your concerns seriously.
At Anheuser-Busch we have a long heritage of supporting the institutions and values that have made America so strong. That includes our armed forces and the National Anthem as well as diversity, equality and freedom of speech. We proudly employ over 1,100 military veterans and we work every day to create an inclusive environment for all of our employees.
Anheuser-Busch has many long term sports partnerships, including our NFL sponsorship, and while we may not agree on everything, we still believe in the power of sport to bring people together and overcome their differences.
We understand your concerns and will convey them to the NFL.
Thank you,
Anheuser-Busch
Nothing like saying....."We didn't do it", better than that.
Oh, and I did laundry and cleaned toilets...lol.
I'm done with the NFL until they wake the hell up. I read that some teams kneeled before the anthem and that somehow makes it all better. I don't want politics or 'social causes' in my sports. End of story.
They haven't figured it out so far, but if enough people stop watching, they'll either change their ways and go back to the rule book, or they'll dry up and blow away. I'll live my life with or without them. The NFL isn't a significant factor in my life.
Okay.
And, you and I make a pact to never post anything about the NFL or this thread again, since we're not watching anymore and such.
Offense needs to find a way to be productive through out the whole game...that defense is pretty damn stout
Hey, if they want to show the world what idiots they are, more power to them.
It'd be nice if their employers actually followed their own rules, but we know that's not convenient to the political climate.
They have chosen poorly. People will speak loudest with their hard-earned dollars...and they may not come back.
Why doesn't the NFL just say, "If you want to kneel during the National Anthem, fine. Stay in the locker room and kneel there until it's over, then come on to the field and do what we pay you for -entertaining us. We don't pay you to protest anything."
Who are the "Broncos" and what is this "NFL" of which you speak?
