I hope not also.
Hopefully something silly like fireworks associated with the Rockies victory tonight.
I truly hope not. :(
As of an hour ago, report was everyone safe, no shots fired and no active shooter at Air Force Academy....
The Academy is now looking into what caused the reports of an active shooter.
I was kinda wonderin' if this was actual.

Glad to hear that.
Fortunately it was FAKE NEWS.

Wish I could go on base and see for myself. A friend that hosted cadets last night evidently saw video coming out of Vandenberg Hall showing shooters.

Believe me...I've had some conflicting witness reports in my time but this takes witness discrepancies to a whole new level.Quote:

Security Forces forgot to announce a training scenario?
The video looked like paintball guns. Maybe it was paintball guns without the paintballs. Hard to tell as the video was taken through a door peephole. Most cadets are still teenagers. Better safe than sorry, though.
No shooter or injuries found in search of academy dorm
Quote:
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Law enforcement officers say they found no evidence of an active shooter and no injuries in their search of a dormitory at the Air Force Academy late Friday night.
Authorities say the academy in Colorado was placed on lockdown at around 10 p.m. MDT, and that text messages were sent to airmen warning them of a possible shooter.
The El Paso County Sheriff's Office said military personnel and law enforcement officers cleared dormitories and knocked on doors but found that there were no injuries or shots fired.
The Gazette in Colorado Springs reported that security forces said they believed the incident took place at the academy's prep school.
Earlier this week the Air Force Academy leader delivered a stern message in a speech to cadets after someone wrote racial slurs on message boards outside the dorm rooms of five black students at the prep school.
What, exactly, does this statement have to do with the story about a possible shooter?Quote:

Both occurred in the same USAF installation ?
Not anymore.
lol
It was a Nerf gun fight that got blown out of proportion. I hate to see what these officers-to-be are going to do when they encounter real guns.

O2
Yeah for social media...
I figured it would be something like that but I thought it would at least be realistic-looking toys like Airsoft. Nerf guns? Really?. We played "assassin" in my dorm my freshman year using water pistols and digital watches (using the beep beep of the countdown timer as a simulated grenade). I'd hate to think what the politically correct, unreasoningly sensitive college administrators would do about that now.
Is anyone else concerned that our future military leaders are such snowflakes at the site of nerf guns and the cowardly tweets?
