LOL Coldness is on the way, with snow...in late December!!! Holy shit, the world really is ending!
Sorry, my wife had the local news on earlier. [facepalm] I'm assuming there will be some dumb ass follow up story about how this is due to AGW, like big snowfall in Alaska.
So winter is finally going to show up on the Solstice. SWEET!!
Bah humbug. Finding what I hate about this winter, amazing riding weather in afternoon but sub freezing mornings sucks trying to go to work. I'm hoping it returns to at least ~32 mornings and 45-50 high afternoons would be pretty sweet. Keep the snow I'll just water manually some.
It has been remarkably dry and warm so far this year, a nice break from the snow removal duties. I've been working steadily to split and stack firewood, have about 5 cords done and hope to finish the last cord today. Some of the rounds are 36" diameter spruce.
Snow is predicted for this evening through Saturday with a low of -2 Sat. night. The snow plow and snow thrower are ready to go. It feels good to be prepared.

We still laugh about the rumor.
And no, it did not snow for that Christmas in the FL Keys.
I actually went food shopping yesterday to avoid "the armaggedon shopping panic".
Apparently, French Toast is the ultimate winter survival food, since the stores run out of bread, milk, and eggs first...

Woe is me, totally forgot about the coming apocalyptic type storm coming our way.
Did get some milk and eggs today, she has a craving for some deviled eggs.
Good thing we have plenty of bread in the freezer.
I went shopping yesterday and put about 25 lbs of goat meat in the freezer and a dozen eggs. I only have about 35 lbs of bacon and 60 pounds of sausage left, so if snowmaggeden gets to big, I may have to walk over to the pig supermarket and pick up another 250 pounds of pork. I'll pick up another dozen eggs today, and probaby another dozen tomorrow. I haven't taken a liking to goat milk, so that is the one thing we may have to go to town for.
At 5:30 we had 3' of light powder at 12 degrees.
It's supposed to hit 26 degrees on Christmas Eve here....
Same here. Got home from work at about 6:30 and the roads were snow packed, but it was sticky snow which surprised me. I figured the warm temps followed by a cold blast would make it icy, but nah. Smooth sailing up the hill.Quote:
