That is all
What part. There are a lot of stories on there right now pissing me off
The whole part, if you're watching the town hall. Thinkin Rubio won't get out alive
Nope. I'll pass.
Cable News Network is as obsolete as the telegraph.
Fake news.
Could get exciting. Dana Loesch up next
Couldn't make it through 2 minutes. A history teacher wanting Dana Loesch to explain to her how she defines the militia and wants supporting information. Well, you're a freaking history teacher. Read the Federalist papers and educate yourself! The information is out there.
Sheriff is an idiot. When Dana reminded him of all the opportunities LE had to deal with this a-hole, his first response was "the only person responsible for this is the murderer". Sounds to me like he agrees it's the perp and not the tool. They should have ended the town hall right there.
Have any of the people asking questions been pro-gun?
Think, maybe, one guy asking about law enforcement mistakes could have been.
best thing about cutting the cord... couldn't find it if I wanted to. unless I wanted to watch propaganda in a browser, I guess.
For the little bit I saw, it brought back memories of history, in the spectacle when Christians were being fed to lions.
It was an old fashioned witch hunt with Rubio and Loesch taking the brunt of the ignorant, emotionally driven questions. I applaud them for participating.
I didn't watch it but I saw some headlines. Not sure if it was taken out of context, but for the people that watched it...Did Rubio really agree to go after "Assault rifles." Obviously in quotes because we all know how we feel about the term but all know what they mean when they use it.
Dana did an awesome job in a hostile environment.
That Sheriff is an idiot !!
The Sheriff really pisses me off. He acts like a spectator when he was involved and is culpable for his lack of action. He should not get a pass in this mess.
I heard some in the background and saw a highlight of Rubio, and while I don't remember everything he said, he did say that he would support raising the age to buy a rifle, banning bump stocks, and something else. Honestly, if they had played NFL music at every commercial break, it would have fit right in with the programming style.
Again just giving the Dems what they want without a fight then they will go after something else.
Some lessons learned from this is that grieving hysterical people will not listen to rational solutions. I feel like Dana was the only adult in the building with Rubio coming in a distant second place. Dana particularly was giving real world actual solutions that schools should have been taking during the last week, and asking why the murderer was not on a list considering all the interactions he had with law enforcement over the years. Not one person in that arena was willing to comprehend what she was saying, they were simply waiting for her to finish so they could try out the next zinger on her. Why schools are not doing anything at the moment is beyond me.
Rubio explained why a ban on the AR15 wont solve this problem today or anytime soon. I can't remember if it was him or Dana that brought up the VaTech shooter that took out 32 with 10 round mags... Again though, the audience did not comprehend or was not willing to understand what he was saying here.
Then the topper for me was that these people are so freaked out by guns and shouted down any idea to allow teachers to be armed if they want to, but then when the Sheriff announced that when the school opens again he was going to send security armed with rifles (guess what kind of rifles those will be) the place erupted in cheer!?!?
Last night only proved the agenda of the left as they want a full gun ban and will do it piece by piece over time. They shout down the argument of teachers being able to arm themselves by acting like we are requiring every teacher to be armed and to go hunt the murderer even after the cops arrive. I don't think the tactics change just because someone becomes armed but when the bad guy is in plain view you fire back instead of duck your head and play dead. When the police show up, you holster your weapon and let the pros take over. The left seems to think this will lead to a teacher/swat shootout for some reason.
I was particularly befuddled by the guy whose whole speech was summed up by something along the lines of, "We're not going to arm teachers, that's ridiculous! I firmly stand by my belief that teachers need to be paid more!" Sure got an applause out of the crowd, but what did this guy really even say? Nothing of value.
Most of the questions were zingers and if the person answering was not saying exactly what the anti-gun audience wanted to hear, there were shouts of "off with their head!" (figuratively speaking)
One student asks if Rubio could guarantee her safety at school when she returns to school. Hey snowflake, there are no guarantees in life whether or not guns are legal or illegal.
Emotions were unchecked (possibly encouraged by CNN) and it's no wonder Trump, LaPierre and Rick Scott declined to participate.
I now have a better understanding of why children must be 18 years old to vote and 21 to legally drink.
If Trump was Hillary he would just make an executive order banning bump stocks, "assault rifles", name calling, and the NRA. Instead he is voicing his opinion and kicking it to congress to agree on something that he can sign.
I think his plan is that congress comes up with something like a ban on bump stocks and raising the purchase age to 21, but also includes national reciprocity and/or allowing teachers/staff to arm themselves and get some training. I have no doubt that the NRA is talking to him and they are coming up with something. I don't mind a little give and take but with Rs controlling everything at the moment the net result better be some take back. Be interesting to see what they come up with and what gets signed down the road.
You're very optimistic. Maybe he's a better business man that I gave him credit for the last two days. Time will tell and I hope you're right. He looks like the guy calling for change but taking no real action and then getting something in return. Although I want bump fire stocks and nation reciprocity. I think people would use national reciprocity more often than bump stocks.
I assume that someone, somewhere is recognizing the further infantalizing our youth is absolutely the wrong path to take, but have any relatively known figures been talking about that yet?
I am just going off of his history. He has to know that if wants to get elected again chipping away at 2A is going to lose him alot of support. With how divided our country is, even if he banned all guns, he is still not going to pick up any votes from the left so what does he actually accomplish there.
His history shows that he is willing to give a little to get a little more in return. Look at this DACA thing. He makes a statement that maybe these folks can get a path to citizenship in a decade if they stay out of trouble and blend into our culture. In return he wants the wall and several other things. I think I am willing to take that but the Dems are fighting it and he turns it back on them saying they are the ones preventing DACA from being resolved.
I suspect this gun thing will have a similar tactic!
I hope you are right!
I'll say it again; if it results in gun control Trump is done in 2020. The numbers and opposition means he can't afford to break his base without winning any cross over support to make up for it.
If he thinks people are going to stop hating him, he is a fool. The country has never been more polarized.
Me too.... Its going to happen where Dems are eventually in control again, it's cyclical and inevitable. At the rate we are going with these nutcases every six months, the next D POTUS will do a lot of damage to 2A.
Right now, our best bet is to find a way to prevent this crap from happening and be able to show a decline in this sort of thing. He better be able to get teachers/staff the ability to arm themselves and hopefully the next time this happens, one of the armed teachers is able to down the killer when they encounter him.
That happens, and he not only saves lives but he wins the argument!
How CNN shaped the debate.
Take a good look at these kids. Can any of them be accountable for the negative consequences they are creating? Not in a million years. The one with the shaved head looks like a mental case herself.
This seems like another shit test.

..."the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed." has nothing to do with limiting arms to "militias".
The calls are transitioning to ban all "semi-automatic" firearms. You know, the firearm technology that has existed since 1885.
See, here is where I think the liberals and Trump haters have got themselves into a box they can't get out of.
They hate, hate, HATE Trump and have made it clear every minute of every day since he took office (and really, before that.) They also know (or should know) that he takes insults and slights very personally.
So this puts them in a quandary: If Trump starts to voice support for even a tepid measure like banning bump stocks, they have to back off on their criticism, because if they don't, he's likely to say "there's no pleasing you assholes" and drop the whole thing. OTOH the "base" of the dems and pro gun controllers hates Trump so much that they are going to keep haranguing and hating on him no matter what he does.
So there's no up-side in supporting gun control for Trump. He's going to get hated and blamed no matter what he does, and if he ends up flip flopping on gun control, a huge portion of his own base will abandon him.
It's like the old saying that when you desert your old friends for new ones you end up losing BOTH.
If liberals hadn't been so vocal in their hatred for Trump they might be able to curry some favor with him. But once you take the hate and turn it up to 11, you can't really go back.
It's like calling someone an asshole for 364 days and then on day 365 asking if they'll loan you $50 and help you move. Not likely.
CNN denies giving Florida shooting survivor scripted questions for its town hall on guns
Quote:
A student who survived last week's school shooting said CNN gave him scripted questions ahead of a town hall event on Wednesday.
Colton Haab, a junior at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School who shielded students during the shooting, said he had prepared a speech and questions for the town hall but "it ended up being all scripted."
CNN has denied Haab's claim.
A student who survived the Florida shooting has accused CNN of giving him scripted questions during a CNN town hall event on Wednesday night.
Colton Haab, a 17-year-old junior at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, told local WPLG news that he had prepared a question suggesting schools use veterans as armed security guards, but CNN gave him a different question.
"I expected to be able to ask my questions and give my opinion on my questions," Haab said. "CNN had originally asked me to write a speech and questions, and it ended up being all scripted."
Fox News has some great coverage with Trump right now.

Trump discussed teachers that are proficient, trained, and want to help by arming themselves should get more pay as a result. There's a lot of details that would need to be worked out, but it's a proven fact that "gun free zones" are in fact free kill zones. Continuing to do the same thing is definitely not the answer.
