I never knew there were places without permits, but now I live in one.
Property taxes are high, but I saved $4000 in permit fees on work I've done or had done this year alone (at a 10% rate)... in Fremont county, I think the rate was lower, but had a 30x42' Cleary building with a 10' overhang on the 42' side (so a 40x42' roof) built for about $15k, but the county said it was worth $30k, so based the permit fee.off that...
