Seeing the "Favorite Hot Sauce" thread, it had me thinking... What are your favorite beef jerky brands/flavors/websites? I'm always on the hunt for better beef jerky. I like my snacks! I'm hesitant to go off "review website" suggestions because I think they are a little biased most of the time.
So, suggestions on what/where to order?
My favorite store bought jerky is the Love's travel stop/country store brand jerky, really tasty.
Homemade moose is pretty darn good. My husband's favorite.
Vigil’s Christmas blend out of Albuquerque. Come for the Chile, stay because your car got stolen...
Chef's Cut beef jerky from Costco.
Iiiinteresting! I drive by the new Berthoud/I25 Loves every day. Looks like I know where I'll be stopping in the morning. From digging, looks like that/their jerky is made by "Robertson's Hams". Their website shows some pretty amazing looking stuff. Not sure if I should love your suggestion or hate it. Might get expensive! [Tooth] But thanks!!

Anyone have a good recipe for homemade jerky marinade?
Every time I like something they discontinue it. Good thing I am a 'preparedness enthusiast', I buy stuff like Knorr Leek Soup mix and Kraft Box Spaghetti, and Kraft Bacon Tomato Catalina by the case.... now they are all nowhere to be found!
I was too young when they discontinued Kraft Savory Chicken Noodles and Sauce... I miss it so.

No Man’s Land out of Oklahoma. It’s at all of the Kwik Shops here in KS (Loaf & Jug in CO), but the only place I’ve seen it in CO is in Burlington. It’s a dry jerky and is definitely not like traditional gas station “tender” jerky.
I like the Old Trapper Hot and Spicy but my all time favorite was Monty Nuss. When they stopped selling jerky, I stopped going to gun shows.
My favorite jerky is whatever's in my hand at the moment. But I do prefer it soft and a little moist, easy to chew - vs. the stuff that's like a seasoned piece of a belt.
Soy sauce, Worcestershire, red pepper. Vary proportions according to taste. Soak 24 hours, drain, dry in food dehydrator. When you arrive at the balance you like it will be hard to buy store bought jerky.Quote:

And Walmart sells pre-sliced (can't remember if it's top or bottom round) that is almost perfectly cut into jerky sized pieces. I think they call it stir-fry beef. Most of the time no trimming is even required and it can be separated straight into the marinade.

Directions:
1 Marinade the beef (3-5 lbs sliced thin) at least 1 hour. I typically do it (12 hours) overnight.
2 Smoke over low heat (dome temperature 160 to 180 degrees) until desired texture. It may take 12 or more hours. Turn it every couple of hours.
3 The strips of beef are placed on the grill to create the mound - the grill is preheated to 160-180 using firebricks and drip pan - I let the mound cook for about 1¼ hours and flip the whole thing using a 2nd grid - then it cooks for another hour - after 2¼ hours I'll take it off the grill and start to separate all the pieces from the mound - as the day progresses, I'll use a pair of tongs to turn the jerky about every hour and make sure that all the pieces get rotated.
I make my own but beyond that, the best I have found is No Mans Land from Oklahoma. They have an online store.
i used to love jerky. Cannot eat red meat anymore due to heart and cholesterol issues.
You guys make me envious.
