I remember when this was a fresh story. I was udderly amazed at the shots this guy soaked up before calling it quits. And all 45s. I can only imagine the emotion the officer was going through.

The deputy was shot eight times, including once behind his right ear at close range.
Another deputy was wounded and a police dog killed.
A statewide manhunt ensued. The low-life piece of human garbage was found hiding in a wooded area with his gun. SWAT team officers fired and hit said low-life 68 times.
Now here’s the kicker: Asked why they shot the guy 68 times, Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd told the Orlando Sentinel … get this. “That’s all the bullets we had.”

Only sure one-shot stop is CNS.
Pistols poke holes rifles blow holes. All pistol rounds are extremely negligible. Shot placement is crucial and the only one shot stopper is a CNS shot to the spine or brain. Rifles can have very deceiving results as well depending on bullet style and placement as well. Shoot until it is no longer a threat.
The perp was a dead man running from the wounds he received. The fact he was continuing to fight had nothing to do with the caliber of weapon used and a caliber with less impact energy wouldn't have done any better.Quote:
