Not looking good for Stapleton, not surprisingly...

A fair number of the issues are going the way I would want, which I count as a bonus.

It's very strange watching election night coverage. ABC is saying the Dems only currently have a 60% chance of taking the house. NBC says 65%. And Fox News, of all networks, has litreally already called it for the Dems with an 85% chance they take it. Everything is backwards. Crazy stuff..
I saw that Fox made a surprisingly early call of the House going to dems. You're right...crazy times. What a weird election.
Looks like pole smoker polis has won.
Agreed.
Stapleton is pulling closer to Polis, with just over half the state reporting in.
Thus far, I see the dems pulling 6 of the 23 house seats they need for a majority. They have lost a senate seat at this point.
It's going to be an interesting evening.
Now Politico and such are saying polesmoker won...
Damn.
Not unexpected, but damn.
This state is lost forever. So what does this election mean for gun rights? Another round of bullshit pushed through like 5 years ago?
Likely.
It won't be pretty, that's for sure.
Thankfully, the fed senate is looking pretty much locked up as a R majority for the next 2 years.
Fed House is getting dicey, but possible to hold the majority.
Fox just called it for Cruz in TX. That helps with the senate.
Califrado...good luck.
AZ is the state I can't figure out for the life of me. They finally unburden themselves from Flake and McCain and they're on the verge of electing Sinema. WTF? She has got to be one of the most radical leftists of all of them. I know McSally isn't a great conservative but, seriously? WTF?
ETA: I see McSally is back in the lead with 58% reporting. She should be stomping Sinema into the ground.
ETA: And it looks like Coffman got his ass handed to him. Is that due to redistricting or because he's a candy-assed conservative?
Fox just called for Polis
I don't get this one either. I don't know if he got redistricted and he was certainly a lame conservative. But it sure seemed like there was a lot of money being spent against him. Hell, someone even paid for an ad that ran non-stop on KOA radio against Coffman. Blamed him for the increased cost of health insurance.
Polls close in CA and on the west coast in just a little over 5 mins. Watch for lots of big democrat numbers...especially in the house.
Looks like Scott could pull out a win in FL against Nelson. That would be a YUGE win for republicans and would put a lock on control of the senate.
DeSantis wins
Hawley wins
Yeah...there's a lot of information to digest. It's also hard not knowing what parts of the states haven't reported. That makes a big difference.
Maricopa cty has been leaning blue from what i understand. Factor in McSally is a trump supporter in a cty that for some reason loved McCain & Flake. The harsh reality is, as mentioned, no state is safe from the onslaught of liberal locust infesting the country.
A CA Conservative, like a N.Y or MA one is still a left of center voter when the reality hits.
Polls in ID closed at 8pm. ID governor called for the R at 8pm with 0 votes counted. Way to go out on a limb Fox. LOL
McCain was an effective panderer... the wall "issue" is decisive in AZ, lots of latinos will vote for border flow.
I may have lived in CO for almost 20 yrs, but McSame was my senator before that... despite me voting against him every chance I had.
I see 2013 all over...maybe worse.
My count on the Colorado Sec of State site....
State Senate lost 3 REP seats....
Basically on a state level...
CO went full retard... I mean democrat...one in the same....
Maybe only lost 2 state sen seats..
Right now looks like
Looks like Neville is out..
Humenik out....
And jensen didnt pick up the IND seat...
But not all data is in....but not looking good...
Yep Dems have the trifecta here in Colorado now, House, Senate, Gov. They can pass a 3 round mag limit and no grandfathering if they want. Revolvers for everyone if you can pass a new special background check that you have to pay for and takes 3 years to pass.
The rest of Colorado needs to find a way to secede from Denver and inside the 470 beltway.
Colorado is full on Dems.. state house, senate and gov.. anything is up for grabs.
I changed my party affiliation to unaffiliated.
The CO GOP is a joke, they couldn't find their ass with both hands at high noon on a cloudless day. They didn't even try to win.
Buying lowers at an excellerated pace
I agree. The only statewide R candidate worth a crap was Brauchler. Stapleton was the worst choice of the whole lot, typifying the parties selection of the boobish "company man" over somebody who could actually run a competitive race.
If you look overall, REPs did poor in CO.
Coffman said it well... DEM judges wrote the districts (which i dont see how that is legal as judges have no authority to write the maps) and gerrymandered the districts in DEM favor.
Then just looking at other races, the suburbanites overwhelmingly went for DEMs. It wasnt one race, or two or a bad candidate... the suburbanites (especially women) I think dislike Trump and made Colorado REPs pay.
I think running "good" candidates would not have helped. In fact maybe (let me hope) it is a strategy to keep better candidates from being "losers" for the next round of elections.
What I would like to see at the state level is that the CO house or senate had very easy districts for one of them. The districts would be called "counties". Each county gets one representative. That would balance out the needs of rural vs Denver/Boulder.
