There any place where machinists chill in the front range? Would be nice to talk shop sometimes with people who know what a pair of calipers are.

Don?t be a snob. I?m not a machinist but I?m familiar with things like calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, etc. I even know the difference between horizontal, vertical, and axial.
I would be a little surprised if there was a bar where machinists got together for drinks.
You might have better luck finding some gun guys to hang out with.
Calipers? Those are the things the barber uses to cut my hair right?

A few machinists from Ball used to hang out at joint on South Golden Rd, about 25 yrs ago. Don't remember the name then but believe it is still there.

If you want to browse faceplant, there's 3-4 good ones there. Lot's of used items in their sales section.
Used to be one, don't hang out in bars. I enjoyed the work, just couldn't make any real money at it.
Good luck in your quest.
Maybe I haven't been watching the site enough, but I don't recall seeing you (Pancho Villa) on the site for a looong time. I'm damned glad to seeing you back and posting - we've missed you!
Now, I'm not a machinist, but from time to time I have a project that I could certainly use a machinist for. It would be great to know who here is a machinist and which of those can do projects for folks.
Slung a few chips here and there....
Potato chips don't count.
I have a bastard file...
Hi OP!
KS63 is I believe.
Calipers? Is that the thing that clamps on the dickfer to keep the turn signal fluid lines pressurized?
I've got a bunch of calipers...3 on my street bike alone...[Peep]
Not a machinist, nor did I stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night...
I am hobby level at best I have micro machines
I've always wanted to learn how to run a lathe and mill. Just never been in a position to learn. That's gonna be one of the first things one my list after I retire...take a class or two.
I have a bitty metal lathe that I upgraded. Works well enough for my needs.
Anyone do EDM? I have a little project on a Alloy J frame revolver.
I used to be a regular here, about 5-6 years ago I started having personal troubles, got divorced (got the kid!) and moved back to cali where generous family helped me get restarted as a machinist. I met my new wife and because cali is a hole where the rents are even higher than here (2300/mo for a 3br apt near compton, seriously) we packed up the family and moved back here.
Working at a shop close to home, running 3 CNC machines as a kind of proto-cell-lead. Programming, setup and operation. Here's my "office": Attachment 77039
Congrats on the life restart. Sounds like it's working out well for you.
I noticed you took a hiatus. Glad you've sorted & returned.
Unfortunately Denver is just like Compton, only different. There's even a song about it.
Giggle snort
Its a terrible terrible song, truly
That bar has been named the Rock Rest since I wore pigtails....
Oh wait.
A Hard Place?
I see I have a new custom title.
