Happened up near Erie, but says it wasn't a Weld or Greeley officer. Adams County guy I wonder what he was up to if he wasn't on phone because he was chasing someone legitimately.

Seems like a pretty good way to fuck up your career.
They're doing the same thing down here. IMO Trying to put good shoots in a bad light. The comments section as usual are telling the local Phoenix paper. IF the alleged suspect complied and not pointed a gun at the cops, they wouldn't have needed to shoot.
But they were only 17 yrs old. Hey you said no one under 21 is mature enough to own certain guns. Guess you're right. Opps
OIS in Pueblo county 1500 feet from my house. Next day I go into the city and this happens...everytime I go somewhere I find blue light specials!

They will just shake each others hand and go on.
His/her training must have kicked in.

So an off duty Adams county officer is driving at a high rate of speed, not immediately complying with the flashing lights and sirens, finally deciding to stop.
Then the speeding off-duty officer is shot. What happened between stop and shot ?
Messy deal for sure.
Bottom line, guns are bad and only le should have guns.[Muaha]
Apparently there were two speeding cars, and the one that stopped was the off duty officer.
“On Wednesday night, two vehicles were driving north on Highway 85 from Platteville at a high rate of speed and failed to stop for officers, according to Greeley Police.”
Was he attempting to stop and arrest an individual with road rage ? And failed to obey commands quick enough when he stopped ?
Did he do the “I’m a cop, I’m a cop” and reach to show his badge and get shot ?
Only the dash cam and body cams will tell the truth, if they exist, or if they suddenly don?t have a malfunction at the time of the shooting.
No chihuahuas were actually harmed in this story.PMSL
I'm guessing all involved want this to quietly go away. It sounds like there's plenty of fail to go around.
I haven't read the article, but I don't feel like it bars me from forming a strong opinion on what occurred. Here goes...
And, he didnt make it.

RIP
So... he was Jail division. Which means he wasn't doing anything he should have and got himself shot?
If that's the case, sorry, not sorry.
GreeleyTribune has no more info than 9 News, quite the cluster
Another sad story. If you see something, call it in. I speculate he was chasing somebody that did something bad and got shot as a result. He did not call 911. I am just guessing. I just had another migraine attack and could be wrong as $&#!
The way I read it, the other car was chasing his.
The word of mouth so take it for what it is, was that the cars were racing/drag racing. Supposedly reached into a vest/shirt. Reality? dunno. I do wonder how much more/less spookable a tiny town like La Salle department is vs say Greeley.
One would think LE, either on or off duty would be above street racing.
When assholes collide.....
Ya, trust me, LEO are not above being speed demons if nothing else. I've been told quite a few tales of disgraced deputies too.
Where's Ronin when you need him? MAYBE we could get some accurate info?
He works for Adams County, in the jail.
Ronin is in jail in Adams county?
