That's a lot of people invading a home.
They likely felt their numbers would increase the chances of being successful.
The story says that "A shootout then took place between the groups, according to police. "We have multiple, multiple shell casings from several different types of guns," Miller said." My guess is these bg's didn't intend to leave the resident(s) of the home uninjured or alive. My take is the homeowner saved the lived of himself/herself and all residents or the home.
One of the comments said it was a good outcome and someone disagreed since 2 of the perps survived. It's all about neutralizing the thread, if the bg's die in that effort, so be it - but in the end, the threat was neutralized and the homeowner was safe. Good for him/her.
Oregon currently has MANY anti-guns bills before their state legislature. Among them is one which would limit the capacity of ALL firearms to 5 rounds...not sure how that will work out with revolvers since most all of them are 6 rounds. Imagine if you were faced with this TX homeowners situation and only had a 5 round capacity. The only question at that point is whether you want a casket funeral or to be cremated.
I love a story with a happy ending.
No, it doesn't. Won't surprise me if a grand jury "no bills" the homeowner.

Well....the criminals would only have five rounds as well so it would be a fair fight......
Almost the exact same thing happened to my friend's uncle about 15 years ago. In California. It took a long bit for his life to get back to normal.
I'm more than a little impressed by this guy. Wonder what his background is. Handy with the steel.
I could hear the sarcasm from here.
Shiiiit, Team Rico brainwashed? Never happen - the man's solid and wise to the fallacy of the anti-gunners rhetoric. Brother was just having some sarcastic fun with us, since we know the anti's use that BS line to push their agenda all of the time.
I heard it too. It was positively dripping with sarcasm. In fact, I think I got some on me.
I have no idea if it's true or has any merit, but five dudes breaking into a house makes me question what kind of stuff the homeowner is involved in. Regardless, he was in his home and successfully defend it, good guy or not.
[Sarcasm2].....
I just sarcasm'd in my mouth a little bit.
You know they were munching peyote buds for the campfire scene. That will disrupt your digestive tract big time...... Or, um, so I?ve heard.........
That's what happens when you wake up John Wick at 1 a.m. [Sarcasm2]
Not worth it's own thread, but sorta related. Look at another extreme case of "my boy an angel, didnn do nuttin" vs Reality.

Homeowner used AK in the ole "let me reach under my couch to get you the cash, SUPRISE BE-YOTCH" move. Invaders had unspecified rifles also. Homeowner said Invaders were known to him and they targeted him for cash and jewelery.

I'm going to introduce a bill that makes it illegal for anyone to use the phrase "fully loaded" ever again. It's a hate crime against the reader.
Fully loaded clips are a necessity for high capacity home defense.
Also, the homeowner is 19 years old. This is shaping up to be the perfect case study example of why currently popular proposals for gun control are poppycock.
