I imagine this kind of stuff is pretty routine these days but having another human being cutting on your wife still makes you a little nervous.

Everything will be fine.
Thoughts her way, Ray. Most folks I know who have had recent knee surgery have had excellent results. Hope your wife has a similar experience.
Good thoughts. Meniscus, right? She’ll do great.
Knee mail sent Ray !!!

Best wishes for a successful surgery and a speedy recovery.
Best wishes.
How'd it go?
Thank you all for the well wishes.
My wife is alive and in good spirits.
Unfortunately, things were a little worse than anticipated once they got in there. They did what they could but if she isn?t happy with the results after she heals they said she?ll need a partial knee replacement.
Best wishes to your wife.... I don’t know what your wife went in for, but if she goes in for knee replacement (partial or complete) it is like an assembly line process.
When my wife went, she was #4 of 10 scheduled for that day at Sky Ridge.
Just make sure she sticks with the post surgery PT and exercises.
P.S. I have a walker if you need one for her, just meet me to get it.
Hope she heals up fast.
Some free advice - make sure she does the PT and all that afterward. A friend of mine had both knees done, didn't do the PT on either because it was "too painful" and "too much work", she is no better now than before the surgeries, she might even be worse off than before the surgeries.
Ray, I hope the best for the Mrs,....and extra work doesn't become necessary.
Hoping for the best.
I would add that she not overdo the therapy either. Best to follow the instruction, advice and schedule of the therapist. My father, stubborn as he is, took the "more must be better" approach to his therapy and I believe it set him back a bit in his final results.
Mine just had knee surgery last Thursday; so I am a couple of days ahead of you.
Words of advice from a tired husband:
1) Ice. Lots of it. Use it constantly.
2) Get a CPM machine. My wife HATES doing it, but we can see the range of motion increase every day - its nuts. She looks back each day and is glad she did it.
3) Do the PT. Do it all. Ignore the horrible things coming out of her mouth while she does it. ;)
4) Stay ahead on the pain management. Its way easier to deal with it before it becomes a major problem.
Good luck and I hope your wife recovers quickly!
Been a few days, how's she faring?
She seems to be doing well. She does seem to be a little irritated with me today but I guess that?s to be expected since she has been around me for days in end.
I suspect it has much less to do with you & more that she's uncomfortable. ; )
