Reviving an old thread for a question.
I have all MP Rotator sprinkler heads. Can anyone recommend a pop-up sprinkler head that is somewhat dog resistant?
My back yard has been looking unusually dry. I was just swapping a couple of heads to get better coverage, and my dog ruined one of the heads. He bent in the stainless adjustment ring. As I continue to check the other heads, they're pretty much all destroyed with the same issue.

Maybe just replace with standard 4-in pop-ups? Orbit makes a metal topped unit . . . but the reviews on them universally suck, so I wouldn't use those. Something like a regular Rainbird pop-up would take a lot more chewing on the upper "ring" part without causing the same issues and the head itself would be recessed so not something likely to be damaged as bad as the rotors (which I think stick up just a bit, right?).
They're flush when they go down. He chews on them when the water is on. It's a game for him. He loves water.
Based on what he's done to the stainless, the plastic heads wouldn't last long.
I've started training the dog to leave them alone. He did better tonight.

Are the MP pop up bodies by Hunter? If so you can try just non MP spray heads. Maybe the mist will be something the dog doesn?t like vs the streams the MPs make. They are only a few bucks each.
EDIT: Answered my own question.
Don't want to be paying for doggie dentistry, so I'll leave the brass out.
Some of the bodies are Hunter, some are Rain Bird pro series. Doggo likes mist, stream, out of the spigot, out of a jet nozzle, in his outside galvanized water tub...
The only time he doesn't like water is when you try and give him a bath.
Adding soap to my sprinklers is totally out of the question.
