Yeah, prices took a jump this morning. There's $100 million in military hardware down the tubes.

BREAKING NEWS:President Trump says Iran might have mistakenly shot down U.S. drone. Details to come.
All I can say is I'm glad I'm not an Iranian manning a SAM missile battery anywhere near the Persian Gulf/Strait of Hormuz. I suspect their life-expectancy may drop significantly in the next few days.
Iranians are idiots. Has to be the inbreeding.
They hit the RQ-4, tried to hit an MQ-9, mined the oil tankers, and they think this is going to end well for them...
So dumb...
Artificially increasing oil price is stupid. It ain't 1970s anymore. Even full OPEC are not price maker anymore. Iran just has fraction of oil supply. I hope this will teach iran and other turds who plans to artificially increase the price a lesson.
Market will immediately correct the price. Other OPEC, US/Canada, Russia will most likely fill the supply.
I can't believe Iranian try to play oil supply panic bullshit that worked in 70s. These guys are lower than Velenzuela govt Maduro turds.
Sounds like someone got a rebate on their life:
From FoxNews.com:
Quote:
The Trump administration made a last-minute decision to call off retaliatory strikes against Iran in response to the downing Thursday of a Navy drone that Washington said was over international airspace, a source told Fox News early Friday.
But few details about the aborted mission and the circumstances that led to the reversal were available.
Multiple news outlets, including the New York Times, Washington Post and Associated Press, reported similar accounts ? citing unnamed sources. These reports portray a mission that would have targeted Iranian missile batteries and radars. No shots were fired and no missiles were launched, according to the AP.
From what I got of the news this morning, after Trump found out that the Iranian body count was estimated at 150, the response wasn't proportional to an unmanned drone being shot down.
Amazingly brilliant move on his part, along with letting it out as the reason. Makes him look sane and undercuts any further Iranian aggression; if they harm or kill any US personnel it shows that the response (which would be devastating) would be in reaction to the provocation of loss of US life, which was not something the US was previously willing to do to Iran. Moreover, it's just the right thing to do.
Iran will probably be invaded sooner or later due to the nuclear program they are developing. No sense in wasting assets until that time comes. I just figure Iraq was a practice for Iran. Just my take on this area at this time.
Speaking of Iran, anticipatory reprisal!

Iran is funding Hamas. I don't think Israel will allow Iran to be a nuclear power.
I’m glad Trump stopped the attack.
However if one US citizen/soldier dies at the negligence of the country of Iran, I hope we bring everything we have and obliterate them to a world where cockroaches hardly survive. They remind me of the kid in middle school who just never got it, always running their mouth, starting fights, talked back to their parents. Every once in a while an ass whooping needs to happen to keep everyone else in the room calm.
I don't know if we can.
Everything with Iran since the revolution has been all about strategic control of Hormuz. Now that crude production has shifted, I'm not sure how strategic that is, but it's where they are kicking up drama.
Many are cheering Trump's stand down but if their aggression isn't countered it will only escalate. I see people saying "one drone isn't worth Iranian lives" (150 predicted causalities). But we don't know how many will be killed next time Iran acts out. I'm also not so sure Iran is working for more Obama cash or paying back favors.
We should have settled this after Beirut.
Personally, I don't give a rat's ass about how many Iranian lives are lost. At all. Then again, my opinions don't need to consider strategic and other implications.
Yeah, they perceive it as bullying.
We "play bully" because we paid a big part of the tab from 1917 - 1945, and pretty much the whole tab since 1945.
I'd be fine with Europe running drones and monitoring shipping around Iran, dealing with any escalations, and dropping bodies. The situation is multiples more important for them (Russia) than the US.
Logically Japanese govt should send their fleet to the region, not us.
Financially, we are the #1 consumer. They are f'ing with US consumers' hard earn money by playing around with artificial short run.
Forget the air strike.
Every time they mess around with [our or any other] ship/drone/plane, we should block their export/import ships coming in or out.
That could happen either way but if France has skin in the game it becomes less likely.
These NATO nations can stab us in the back all day long knowing that when the call goes out, or Russia gets froggy, the US will deal with it.
If we got really serious about national defense (as opposed to offense), we could easily protect CONUS with our resources and tell everyone else to FOAD. If France wants jihadists with suitcase nukes, then France would get jihadists with suitcase nukes.
Since we are talking about nuclear, the word enrichment pops.
Then it reminds me of the word centrifugal.
:D
Trump tells other countries to protect own Gulf shipping

This is a good start. But now I'm worried I'm Trump. If so, I owe you all an apology.Quote:
Washington (AFP) - President Donald Trump on Monday told other countries to protect their own Gulf oil shipments, declaring that the United States has only limited strategic interest in the "dangerous" region.
In a pair of tweets, Trump said US aims regarding Iran boil down to "No Nuclear Weapons and No Further Sponsoring of Terror."
As for Iran's threats to shut sea lanes used to transport a large portion of the world's oil exports through the Persian Gulf, Washington is not concerned, Trump said.
The US is now a net exporter of energy, so the Straight of Hormuz doesn't mean much to us or our oil prices. Something like 91% of China's oil and a large chunk of Japan's oil comes from the region. Why aren't they defending their own shipping? It's not our grass to cut.
