Lets see where this goes....
Damn. I'll be buying a shit ton of ammo if this goes anywhere.
I already have my license. It's called the United States Constitution.
Fuck them.
"firearms license". What is that?
Making the decision to leave this state easier and easier.
Wow. That's bold. I knew this state was in trouble despite their assurances that they would adhere to the second amendment.
It is the same thing with dirt bikes. They tied up all the land they could then went after emissions and noise. Now that electric bikes are becoming viable, it will likely trend to erosion control to stop recreation on public lands by anyone. That includes you, bicycle guy.
Can't stop guns? Stop ammo. Own a gun, health and homeowner's insurance canceled, can't get credit cards or a loan for a car or home.
It's coming. I sound like a conspiracy guy and hate it but I really think we are in trouble when it comes to freedoms.
Cheyenne is close enough. I will not comply with this nonsense.
Just in case you didn't read the article.
I predict this will go nowhere.Quote:
"Colorado AG joins others calling for background checks on ammo"
Quote:
WASHINGTON - Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser, along with 20 other state attorneys general in the U.S., sent a letter to Congressional leaders calling for either background checks or a firearms license in order to buy ammunition.
The letter, written Monday by Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro and supported by AGs from mostly Democratic states, specifically shows support for legislation known as Jaime's Law. That bill, introduced in the House in March, would make it illegal for "prohibited purchasers" under federal law to buy or possess ammunition.
Jaime's Law, if passed, would make it so that individuals would "either have to be licensed to own a firearm or undergo a background check to purchase ammunition," states the letter from the attorneys general. The law is named after Jaime Guttenberg, who was one of the 17 people killed in a school shooting in Parkland, Florida.
The move comes after an increased number of mass shootings in the past several weeks, including two in west Texas and one in Dayton, Ohio. However, the letter also says that "while mass shootings garner the most media attention, they represent only a fraction of the American lives lost to guns and gun violence." According to the Pew Research Center, roughly 60% of all gun-related deaths are due to suicide.
In the cases not related to suicide, Weiser and the other AGs say Jaime's Law would "add protections without infringing on law-abiding citizens' rights to own firearms, nor on states' rights to regulate firearms as they see fit."
The bill hasn't been advanced in the House since it was introduced in March. The AGs say they hope the House Judiciary Committee will consider the bill in the fall.
Death by a thousand cuts.....
I hadn't read the details, but if this is for a national law, then I don't have any immediate fears. But I bet they'll be pushing it as a state bill at some point as well.
And I've got a decent supply, but I have a bad habit of shooting my ammo... Mainly need a couple additional cases of 556.
What did everyone expect? It's Phil Weiser.
Frankly, I'm surprised it's taken him this long to start this kind of crap.
You're calling the wrong on line store ;)
Said the people at the Alamo
A thousand cuts? They've broken out the chainsaws
Surprised Phil's had time to sleep as trump is still in office. No matter how many votes Phil won Co AG.
Colorado is a lost cause. I could take over my family's ranch on the western slope when I retire in six years, but I'm still getting out and starting over on a new piece of off-grid land. I was born here, and if it was the same place I lived when I was a kid; I would stay, but it's not. It's a steaming pile of shit now, crowds everywhere; a mass migration of out-of-state people, money, and BS destroyed it. As far as no where to go; it doesn't matter what "laws" were passed or will be passed. Wyoming has 5.4 million fewer people than Colorado's multitude of transplants all of who want to tell me what I can or can't do. Everywhere you go in this state you're standing in line. Going to what's left of our public land access is almost as bad as going to elitches. Unless half or more of the people leave and the outside influences cease, it's lost. I have absolutely no love for this place anymore, and I just want to get away from it as soon as possible.
Surely you're going to vote the same as where you move to and forfeit any opinions on local matters, right?
More like he isn't going to flee from a corrupt ruined state and then vote for the same sort of policies that destroyed the state he was fleeing.
But I guess it sounds more edgy your way.
Of course he's going to try and move somewhere he already feels comfortable and aligns with beliefs, but that's what everyone thinks. I've only met one person who told me a story about moving somewhere (here) and hating it (too conservative), but she was one of the dumber people I've ever met.
Just a reminder that everyone complains about transplants, until they are one.
I would argue that the vast majority of California dems/leftists flooding into other states don't have any idea how it is their political ideology that has ruined California. They didn't vote for corrupt leaders, high taxes and overbearing regulation ... they voted for people they thought weren't evil (all Republicans are evil), they voted for programs to help the downtrodden and regulations to prevent evil capitalists from destroying the earf.
They'll repeat their voting habits in their new homes because they think they're doing good. Then in a few years they'll be all surprised that their new home is just as bad as California and will shrug their shoulders and move on to the next red state and repeat their destruction there.
These people are too dumb to ever learn.
Just pointing out the incongruity of complaining about transplants in the same breath as deciding to become one.
It all depends on what kind of transplant that you actually are. I doubt BG is trying to turn Idaho, or Kazoo AZ, into Calirado.
It's not a universal value.
Wait till after elections this year and the Democrats have a super majority here. All the shit they spew will become new laws and regulations and new taxes to help and save everyone. I moved out of CA to get away from this same shit. Colorado was awesome when we moved out here but unfortunately it is a lost cause now and it's gonna get way worse than you can imagine.
^This for sure.
