Getting good color yet, or did they all blow away?
We aren't that far west.
I'd be curious about the amount of smoke in that region
Went over Guanella pass yesterday, still early for the aspens there. Another week or two.
Still mostly green here in Gilpin.
Was up Rollins pass yesterday, Aspens by the road starting to change, up higher not yet. Another week or so.
Is the smoke bad or too far away to be an issue?
Smoke hasn't been bad here since we got snow.
Yes, the smoke washed out with the snow storm. Sunshine and blue sky, 68 degrees off the Peak to Peak today. The ground vegetation is showing fall color but the aspens are mostly either green or dead brown. The drought caused many of the trees to shut down and stop foliage growth. I think that fall color in the aspens will be limited statewide. Still, always worth getting out.
Anything left along Peak-to-Peak, or all gone now?
Life kinda got in the way of heading-up before now.
I think it's at peak now. Go before the snow this Sunday.
I did the peak-to-peak road a couple of weeks ago and the aspens were definitely looking pretty gold.
Lots of traffic congestion though so leave yourself time.
Lots of gold in Glenwood canyon. And traffic.
I was up at Meeker Park Lodge and Johnny Park road on Wednesday evening this week and the color was exceptional. I think this weekend is probably the peak if it wasn?t earlier this week.
We will go up! Thanks for the info!
I drove from Estes to Central City on Saturday and they were pretty good. Although you can see areas were either dry conditions or the early frost has effected them.
The cottonwoods behind my house are at their peak - but, the wind is taking its toll.
My aspens turned gold, then brown, then the leaves were blown off all this week.
Lots of raking ahead, but it is year round with the cottonwoods.
