Some states and Canadian provinces have launched educational campaigns for people to spot the animals, report them and ultimately kill to curb their numbers

Lost me at "Global warming is partly to blame...".

Another opportunity to cull feral pigs doesn't sound like a bad idea.

Think they are as much fun to shoot as Prairie Dogs?

I'm not dumb enough to think that Global Warming isn't a thing, but it for sure has nothing to do with pig populations.

The way the Left links EVERYTHING to "climate change" is evidence of the intellectual bankruptcy behind what is really a pseudo-religious precept.

Texans have an easy way to mitigate some of the damage created by the pigs. Farmers and ranchers could lower or eliminate fees if/when they believe the damage created by the pigs exceeds the income they get from charging would-be pig hunters to cull them. I expect they would get all the traffic they need to cull the herds if/when they lower the costs.

My friend's father lives east of Amarillo near the OK line. We hunted on his property and the property of some of his longtime neighbors for no cost roughly a decade ago. Now, instead of the hunters providing a service to kill pigs, access is firmly leased or exorbitant fees charged, severely limiting the kill count.

The number one cause of pig population increase is pig hunting.

Maybe mother Earth prepping for the apocalypse. Surely she likes bacon as much as the rest of us.

at a friends house a few weeks ago, and on his smart TV we ended up watching a bunch of YouTube videos of hog hunting from helo's, and he found some with guys runnin' and gunnin' the basturds from a UTV with full auto and shotguns, at night. They were slaying as many or hogs then the guys did from helo's. Both ways looked like a blast to me.

Go to Georgia every spring to hunt them...don't always see them, but when we do...kill em all and cook em up. Some of the nearby food banks will take em, but that's getting harder and harder to find.

Got a wild hog shoulder once from a friend in Texas. I smoked it up and it was super yummy. It would be fun to do one of the helicopter hunts.

Had a friend trying to talk me into buying some acreage in Arkansas next to his.
One of his selling points was that there were a lot of hogs that I could harvest for eating.
Well now, is that a selling point or a real detriment?
The heat, bugs, and humidity kept me from getting too serious.

Just mentioning Arkansas is a detriment, to anyone.
