I need a safe cracker !

One of my family friends father in law passed away a few months ago and apparently this gentleman was quite the firearm collector. Problem is....nobody knows the combo to any of the safes!! Apparently there are 2 huge safes and 2 smaller ones. The smaller ones have a key entry and those are no problem to get into. The 2 large ones are a dial lock. Anybody know of person who can crack these combo locks? My first call would be to Opie but he isn't in CO anymore. I don't want to call some unknown locksmith.
Last resort is getting out the angle grinders and plasma cutter. I will have more info and pics of the safes over the weekend.

I hope this is more exciting than Geraldo Rivera opening Al Capone's vault!

Wouldn?t that suck? Pay some guy to open the safes only to find out they are empty because the guy liquidated his collection prior to his demise.

Trivia knowledge , not aware of any local locksmiths that have this device in their inventory

Automated dial safe cracker number runner. Uses a computer driven servo motor on safe’s dial and literally goes through every combo until it opens. Takes a couple days for some combos to be found. It then relocks the safe and gives locksmith the code so he can then give it to you after he is paid for the unlocking and decoding service. Couple vids on youtube about it.

I can reach out to a few folks that may be able to help you out. Do they care if the safe is drilled open, will need a new lock to make it usable again...they don't drill the side and punch the bolt work as that may ruin the operation of the safe afterwards. The auto dialer is an option too but like said above, takes some time.

There's also an android tablet device for electronic locks as well. They're pretty fun to use when people forget their combo!

I wound up just cutting mine open. If you have the serial # the MFG can help. I waited a month and 2 days after I cut it open they sent me the form to get the combo.

Are these actual safes ? Or are they residential security cabinets ?
If they are just the residential security cabinets that are marketed as “Gun Safes” for last 25 years or so, any thief worth his prison cred could be in them in less than 5 minutes only using the tools found in the burgled home containing the RSC.
Search you tube for videos.
If they are rated real safes, or high end brand RSC’s, they would be worth hiring a pro locksmith to open.

I don’t have an opinion on safe, but I do want to know what was in there.

I saw this in a movie once if you want to try it.

You drill a hole in the top of the safe and then fill it full of water. Then you drop some sort of explosive in the hole and just wait for it to blow open.

I would be careful cutting them open since you don't know for sure what's in them. A plasma or cutting torch could sure mess up somethings inside. Unless they are high-end safes a couple of big crowbars should be able to pry them open.

If they are just plain Jane home safes like your basic Liberty and such use a pneumatic chisel with a panel cutter or sometimes called a muffler chisel.
Open em up like they have zippers on em.

If you were closer, I would love to have some training with the jaws. It would be interesting to see what they would do. I don't know what the cutters and ram would accomplish, but the jaws might open the door easily. The air chisel is a great idea as well.

Be sure to video record the process and the reveal! You may choose not to share the video afterward if its not a good idea, but you might kick yourself for not capturing it if there's really some goodies afterall. The family will appreciate the accountability of what is there for inventory purposes too.
