How's everybody cleaning their suppressors?

So, now that it's officially in the works, it's time for me to educate myself.
I have been watching videos trying to gather so info as to maintain my new investment.
Ideally I would not buy any new equipment, since I wouldn't know where to put it...
According to a video from SilencerCo, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b3nUP9E1a8k ,the most cost and time effective cleaning method is still the infamous "dip", but someone was suggesting a 50/50 solution of hot water and Simple Green.
As for the can, it is going to be a GA Optimus, which will be mostly used on 9mm handgun and 300 BLK.
There may be the occasional box of 22lr, but I don't expect to shoot a ton of those.
Any suggestion?

Tumbler with ss pins, works great. The DIP is a nasty toxic nightmare to properly dispose of.

Wet tumbler?
Dry tumbler?
Do you just put the baffles in?
In the above video they were cautioning people about ruining the finish and the s/n of the tube...

Wet tumble baffles only, never a need to put the serialized tube in there as mine are CTA baffles that contain the debris away from the tube.

Never had a need so far to clean pistol caliber cans even after thousands of rounds through em. 22lr cans get dirty quick, I clean between 500-1000 rounds now as letting them go 2400 rounds was a pretty good mess that was harder to clean for sure than 500.

-that mix, for 55 minutes in the ultrasonic cleaner has been my method for many years now. It was originally suggested to me by the people at SWR, a company that in part, became Silencerco.

Sonic cleaner with simple green. But it works best if you get to it right away.

this is an old thread but I have decided that I wanted to try to clean my SAS .22 cal. suppressor, even though it has been suggested that CF cans don't ever need to be cleaned. This suppressor is one that doesn't come apart, and it's got some where around 8,000-10,000 rounds of evrything from .17 Hornet up to .22-250. It makes since to me that it needs cleaned for the simple reason that a guy can see on the end of a barrel how quickly the build up can happen.
I don't have a way to weigh my suppressor before and after, but I got started on it this weekend. Filling it CLR with one end plugged and letting it soak for 24 hours. Then I drained it, flushed it out with water, held it in my hand and beat on it with a rubber mallet, and after the first day, not allot came out, BUT after the 3rd day of the same routine, that's when chunks of carbon started to finally come out, in a big way.
SO, 3 days of the above routine and now I brought it to work and have it sitting in a sonic cleaner and will see what else I can get broke lose. I have the suppressor filled with CLR again for this process, as it seems to be working as far as losing up the carbon.

After about 10 hours in a sonic cleaner and WOW, the amount of black crap removed was impressive. A little more whacking with a rubber mallet still removed more chunks. BUT at least I can now look inside and see an actual baffle and not just built up carbon. I'm calling it good for now and will plan to clean again sometime before the next 8,000-10,000 rounds.

What I gather is that if I can afford enough ammo to make cleaning necessary, I can afford to just throw the can away and get a brand new one as needed...
Sounds like the whole suppressor cleaning is a solution in search of a problem.

22LR suppressor. Used with plain lead unplated , lubricated bullets typically CCI, ELEY, SK. Cleaned once a month after 400-500 rounds. Have tried CLR, Acetic acid and Dawn soap.
Settled on liberal coating of CLP when assembling, Deposits wipe off with a shop towel or tooth brush at sharp corners. I recoat and distribute the CLP using compressed air.
Keep it about as wet as a good .22 target pistol

You guys clean your suppressors?

I pretty much have to clean them. You should see my poor 9mm suppressor after 500 rounds through the subgun. The .22 Suppressors are something else too, they get heavy pretty fast.
