I just checked the website, all of mine still have a status of "entered". Nothing yet, in other words. Thanks for the heads up though.
Maybe things will start rolling in tomorrow then as the dates are for this week:
Primary Draw (bear, deer, elk, moose & pronghorn)
May 24 - 28
So make sure you have your payment on file or ready:
Primary Draw (big game) - The deadline for paying for your big game license is June 11, 2021. All successful licenses will be mailed after the payment is received.

I was notified of a bear tag.
I only applied for an archery deer hunt that I know that I most likely will not get as I got that tag last season and I think the draw minimum for archery is two points, otherwise I just bought points. Will get in on the secondary draw or a left over for deer.
Looks like my CC was charged for a deer tag, but no email yet.

Still waiting. No change in status or points. sigh.
Got an email and a $7 deer charge. Didn't draw obviously. Nothing on Elk or Pronghorn yet.
No email yet, but I logged in to find deer and moose were posted.
1st choice deer archery tag!
And another year of preference points for moose

2 emails.
Moose, unsuccessful
Deer, first choice buck
Moose cow, drew a third PP. In 2018, I took my once-in-a-lifetime Colorado bull moose six miles from our house. Ate moose steak today. :)
Mule Deer buck, drew a tag in GMU 21 with 8 PP. This is managed as a quality deer unit in Garfield and Rio Blanco counties along the Utah border. A nice surprise. I never hunted the unit and don't know it well but conducted bird count transects and vegetation surveys there over several years. Lots of deer there so should be an adventure. (They ought to be selling wild horse licenses here too.)
Elk cow and bull, unknown yet but expect to get both tags in the Flat Tops OTC unit that I have hunted for 36 years.
Pronghorn buck or doe, unknown yet but expect to draw this year in NW CO.
Bear, will pick up a concurrent season tag for one of the deer-elk seasons, not decided which unit yet.
Getting juiced up over hunting this year!
I drew my 3rd season buck tag for unit 85. Last year my wife took a nice little spike on opening day. I may see if I can find one a touch bigger, but she was happy and that buck was delicious.
Very cool. I am expecting points in everything but Pronghorn, I should be able to draw my area this year.
I've seen moose 2 of the last 4 years while elk hunting in CO. With the new draw fees and estimated draw wait, I'm seriously considering just stopping attempting to draw one here and instead purchasing a guided hunt in an area with good odds to get one. I'm tired of paying to enter the lottery, my knees hurt, and I'd like to just go on a hunt.
Very cool though. The little ones taste better anyway.
Elk point awarded, but I still show as "entered" and no email or anything yet.
Just received my elk email. Unsuccessful, so now now I have 21 points.
Successful for elk. Now to find primers
Nice.
Did not draw archery elk. First time ever OTC this year.
Waiting to see 1st Rifle pronghorn.
Drew a cow tag. No deer. Still waiting on pronghorn.
*Drew a pronghorn tag.
Still need to apply for WY antelope and deer.
I got nothing but points. Wife dew a pronghorn doe in 104. Im super excited she drew again. I got my first last year. There are other people hunting on the prop we were invited to last year. So looks like Im knocking on a lot of doors this summer.
If anyone could help in 104 Id sure appreciate the hell out of it.
As I predicted I drew buck pronghorn and cow elk and will be carrying 5 big game tags in three separate seasons. First in early October for pronghorn in NW CO, then second season cow and bull elk and probably black bear in the Flat Tops, then third season buck deer in the trophy deer unit south of Rangely.
With luck I'll connect with one. All on public lands I've taken 10 pronghorn and 29 of 30 elk in NW Colorado. Hope to have a few more left in me.
For pronghorn hunting I camp from the back of my truck the night before the opener. It's usually a one day hunt. For elk I go prepared to hunt to the end of season with my camp trailer. It's a '67 Prowler that I've used since new. Still works. I'll probably take it for the deer hunt this year and plan to hunt to the end of season.
Here's a pic of pronghorn country and my base camp truck and trailer in the Flat Tops taken from the top of a mountain 1.6 miles south and 1450 ft. above. The camp is in a meadow surrounded by aspen at the end of a forest service spur road.

I hope all you guys collecting preference points are still planning to hunt. There's lots of opportunity for elk in the over-the-counter units (like where I hunt), and with left over deer, elk, pronghorn, and concurrent deer/elk season bear tags. You can hunt bear in any unit where you have a deer or elk tag, and in all four seasons, not just the season you have the deer or elk tag.
You can't harvest an animal or develop experience if you don't hunt every year.
I love to hunt, but life does get in the way a lot. I hunt from home, driving up to 60 miles each way when I get to go out. Filling the freezer isn't as critical since we have hogs and cows. They fill the freezer pretty good, and we know what goes into them, unlike store bought.
The new preference point fees seriously suck. They are a terrible burden on hunters, essentially doubling to tripling the cost of moose, sheep, and goat licenses by the time they might be drawn. But CPW is just following the lead of other states on this scheme. Expect outfitter costs to rise proportionately. I'm seeing unguided deer hunts in NW CO asking $18.5K just to get on the property. I think the public land state licenses will continue to be the most affordable opportunity.
I drew a 104 archery license by accident, i used to think less of people that did that because its not like putting in is that hard. Kinda glad it happened to me to humble me.. mixed emotions. I used to have lakd to hunt there, and now i don't. So if you know anyone in 104,105,106 that wants to let an archery hunter hunt for some work on a ranch or any other help i'm the guy.. might not be the smartest but my work ethic is good. Otherwise I'll be nocking on doors. Put in for az,nm, and ks and struck out in all then drew the wrong CO tag.. clearly not my year!
Emails for Buck Pronghorn unit 105 (we'll day hunt private land from home base) and Buck Deer 3rd rifle private/public unit 18. Got burned out last year so we'll see if they're still migrating that route.
Have seen the charge, but no email yet for Cow Elk 3rd rifle also unit 18. May also pick up an OTC Bull if I can and depending how the rest go.
Don't feel bad. I lost 6 Deer points one year on a complete FU. Think it was the first or second year they started the points only draw option and I mistakenly somehow I still don't understand, put in for a tag instead of just points then when the time came couldn't go and it was too late to turn in.
Didn't draw for antelope, as expected, but my two buddies brand new to hunting drew second choice antelope tags for the same unit, so I'm going anyway.
I been stacking preference points forever for elk. Normally I?ll grab an OTC or leftover, but some years life gets the in way and I have to limit my time in the field, when this is the case I normally just stick to deer. Sadly it?s been so long since I got one that I am really looking forward to getting in on one of these ranches and getting a dream bull.

With the time and money invested in a moose tag for Colorado, it might be worthwhile looking into an Alaska hunt. DIY and do research from the net with maybe a scouting trip during fishing season. The license is $800, no guide required. It is beautiful country up there as well.
Drew nothing. OTC Elk it is!
Thanks for the information. I just figured I had enough preference points in moose to keep collecting until I get one.
Always figured the way to hunt them would be a trip like that. I tend to see a decent amount of moose in the woods here so figure why not.

Well, I went 0/7 this year, 4 of those were not a surprise, but I'm definitely a little bummed about not drawing any of the other 3. Well, OTC elk and bear might be my focus. I have a feeling there is going to be a lot of orange in the woods this year...
