Once upon a time, Bill Cosby made a huge positive impact on youth and on the black community as a whole. His public persona lent itself to being a role model for so many people, until the cracks showed. I appreciated his entertainment and what he tried to do for youth, the black community and his anti-racism efforts.
It's sad that he felt the need to do the terrible things he did to those ladies. Their lives will never be the same for it.
They say that just one "aw sh!t" will wipe out a thousand "attaboys". Bill Cosby had far more than one "aw sh!t". Because of his choices to do wrong to others, he will never be remembered for the good things he did; they are forever tarnished.
Truly a shame.
A Cosby Show reunion in the works???

Knock knock
Who's there?
It's me, Bill Cosby!
Based on something I read today...he had an agreement with a DA that he could not be charged for this in return for his testimony in something else. If that is the case...either the DA messed up in making the agreement or they messed up by going back on the agreement. Likely both.
Yeah. Just sitting on the sidelines of this one with some big sunglasses. Don't care about Cosby, likewise not a fan of the trial by public opinion we are creating which this largely was. So.. Meh. Other things to care about.
No matter how you slice it, his career is over.
When the POS dies, someone will erect a statue of him and call him a hero …

Yeah this pisses me off.
It's not about if Cosby is guilty of the crime or not. Did he do what he was convicted of? I'm pretty darn sure yeah.
This is all about the fact that the corrupt District Attorney violated his constitutional rights. They told him he wouldn't be prosecuted, so that he can't invoke his fifth amendment rights in a civil trial. Then right after he did testify, it was suddenly "Oh wait, yes we are going to prosecute you, and we're using your statements in the civil trial to convict."
Honestly, that DA who made the decision deserves prison time. Honestly in my book, what the DA did was worse than what Cosby did. I don't stand for any corruption by any government official, in my book that should be grounds for immediate execution, I don't care if you're a DA, cop, or a dog catcher.

I remember seeing this episode when i was young and thinking it was sorta creepy. Don't get me wrong, I loved the Cosby Show growing up, but this scene seemed off.
The age restriction is obviously that someone else thought so, too....(It's just the BBQ scene from one of the last few shows)
Bill Cosby is probably doing this at home....

I agree that DA deserves prison time.
And 100% it is about Constitutional Rights.
"Fourthly, all presumptive evidence of felony should be admitted cautiously, for the law holds that it is better that ten guilty persons escape than that one innocent suffer. " - William Blackstone, 1769
It is of more importance to the community that innocence should be protected, than it is, that guilt should be punished; for guilt and crimes are so frequent in this world, that all of them cannot be punished....when innocence itself, is brought to the bar and condemned, especially to die, the subject will exclaim, 'it is immaterial to me whether I behave well or ill, for virtue itself is no security.' And if such a sentiment as this were to take hold in the mind of the subject that would be the end of all security whatsoever. - John Adams
If the government can deprave someone like Cosby of his rights, think what the govt can do to you.
I think Cosby is a shitbag, serial rapist with one helluva smart and expensive attorney that set up the original sweet deposition deal.
There is the "Justice System"
And there is the "Justus System"
Probably agree on many points....
But that does not excuse prosecutorial misconduct.
Prosecutorial misconduct is a much worse crime than serial rapist. The sad part, is prosecutors never go to jail for their misconduct.
That DA deserves to sit every day in jail that Cosby did...and then double it.
If we cannot trust prosecutors to follow the law, the entire legal system falls apart. That is why prosecutorial misconduct is a serious crime and should be treated as a crime against society with lengthy (think die in prison kind of length) prison sentences.
We use to be “A nation of laws.” and it meant they were just and applied equally. We’re still a nation of laws, but enforcement has become selective, political, and weaponized.
I understand there is a podcast in the works.

It is the corruption that has made it criminal justice and not victim justice .
I tend to side with DDT951 on this. Anyone arguing "what about the kids" is using a classic progressive justification which is better explained as "the ends justify the means". The problem with that is then the system autonomously successfully prosecutes anyone that insiders "feel" guily, and that isn't what living in a free country is like.
Thing is. The US already does the former, not the latter, and we imprison more per capita that any other place in the world (save a small island that imprisons somalian pirates). So yeah...still not overly worked up here. Don't care for Cosby. Care less for judicial misconduct. But also fully aware that misconduct is endemic in our system. Is it unfair that Cosby had the money to "check" that misconduct? Are people arguing that everyone should suffer the corruption of the state equally?
ETA: My position is I don't like the state corruption. It is unfortunate that only a tiny handful can even begin to fight it. I have no illusion of there ever being a fix.
Not defending the Asst. DA who prosecuted Cosby. Certainly not defending Cosby's actions.
Court said there was no written evidence of an agreement by the previous DA to waive Cosby's risk of being criminally prosecuted.
It appears there was enough testimony that the majority of the justices thought there was an agreement in place.
Moral of the story? Get it in writing!
Just a side note: His sentence was a minimum of 3 years and he served almost 3 years.
I am just glad that a bunch of deranged feminists are having a fucking meltdown about it...[Coffee]
Dictator Emprorer of the Earth should put DA and Cosby in Jail and share a same cell.
Raz0rfist has an interesting take on it.

This one pisses me off more than the Cosby one by far:
https://www.yahoo.com/news/judge-ord...200349033.html
The girl that stabbed her friend 19 times for sport and had a B.S. explanation for "slenderman" essentially just talked her way out of prison.
Only served three years.
She promises she won't hurt nobody again, ya'honor. It was only fun the one time, pinky promise.
ETA:
Quote:
Bohren found prosecutors failed to prove Weier remains a threat and that nothing suggests she'll hurt people again, according to online court records documenting Thursday's hearing.
Nothing except stabbing her best friend 19 times for the fun of it and intending her to die, and lying about it, that is.
Good luck with that. Let me knew how it turns out.

Been following this...
I grew up listening to his comedy, long before the Huxtables and going back to I Spy. I believe his early comedy is among the greats. I can still recite "The Chicken Heart" and "Why Is There Air".
Does this excuse his actions? HELL NO!! Seems he had a thing for Asian girls and women long before "#metoo".
Moving forward, it sounds like the DA wanted to be a poster child and ended up being smacked for it.
Sad that a "pillar" of the comedy and social world was so flawed.
"The Chicken Heart"....."I got my fire and jell-o !!"
