Anyone buy anything from Sportsman Guide recently just to have the order cancelled?

Not really getting good reviews. I used to have a membership, finally cancelled it as it seemed the benefits were of a diminishing return. I thought they were reliable as they are a vendor at the military exchange site.
Not since BMG and Columbia House, buy 2, get 10 CD’s free, was a thing.
I bought some ammo that’s been on back order for a year now. I know I will never get this ammo. I got 1 order out of 4. The one order I did get was back in April. I will not do business with them anymore.
I took a chance in April on some odd ball 6.8 SPC I wanted. Showed up a few days later without drama. I assumed it might go sideways and was surprised when it arrived.
I guess I'm the only one who's had pretty good luck with SG. I don't order from them often, but when I have there haven't been any problems.
I have the membership still and have had good success with them. Mostly clothes and camping type gear. Some shotgun shells a few months ago. Maybe 5 or 6 times a year, no problems.Quote:

Got bought by Northern Tool in 2012. After reading a lot of reviews, many of the positive reviews seem to follow a template. AAFES site shows a disclaimer that SG is overwhelmed with calls.

I've bought from LA Police Gear without issue. Mostly range bags. Too many range bags.
Many years ago I ordered something from Botach. After I placed the order I started reading the terrible reviews. My order arrived sooner than expected. Ordered a second time with the same results. Figured I'd quit while I was ahead. Never ordered from them again. If I recall they had REALLY good prices on a lot of cop stuff.
i think when small stores gets big from online ads, and they need to accommodate the new demand from e-commerce side. Many online stores have a issues of keeping up and mess up with quantities in stock. when they upgrade and hire more as time goes by, they become more reliable.
I did not buy anything at Optic Planet for years, because they had a horrible reviews.
when they were selling trg magazines at $140 and gave them a chance. they have been really good since.
I still try not to order anything under 4 or 5 or low quantities items.
I've never had an issue with Botach. Several holsters (ordered individually, separate occasions) shipped directly from Israel and arrived in about 4 days. Been a few years since I've used them. YMMVQuote:

Optics Planet hasn't been good lately. Had some hunting ammo backlordered for forever and finally had to cancel the order. Yea, ammo is tough sometimes but the other backorders for the same stuff had already shipped in from two other e-tailers weeks before.

So I filed a BBB complaint against sportsman guide last week. Looks like I'm scoring a case of 223 for $299 and a case of 9mm for $199
Was that something you backordered and they didn't want to honor the price?

large e-commerce store or fulfillment center should have a guy who checks (and update) their inventory when item is low in stock (5 or under) to avoid these kinda mess.
