It's just an iguana. Herbivore. And not that big, a lot of forced perspective. About the same size as a tegu. Tegus can be pretty feisty though.
But no the reptiles to fear is gators and pythons.
It was raining iguanas earlier this year. It got cold down there, and they can't tolerate it. Once they warm back up, they climb back in the trees. We are planning a trip to Florida this summer, my 8 and 6 year old wants to go iguana hunting.
Fwiw, I had a very large pet iguana in my 20's. Very mature adult male grew to about 15lbs & a little over 6'. My estimate is that critter is about the same size & not quite as heavy as Khan & mine was even more orange. Probably a little skewed perspective on the size relationship in the photo as I don't think that fella is any bigger than I am for reference.
If yall want to see monsters, Google black throat monitor and goannas.

And of course komodos.
Yup. Had a Savanna monitor too. He was a puppy in temperament until it was time to eat & then he was a bit of a jerk. Big guy, near 4.5' but thats deceptive (unless you're familiar with them) as they are chunky beasties. Think he weighed more than Khan or just about.

I've owned 1 iguana. I caught that 2.5 ft lizard in a parking lot at my work, because it was terrorizing our workers. I should've fried it. Terrible pet.
Dunno, didn't raise mine from a baby as it came from my school. 6ft mofo liked to nap on me. Certainly no rock iggy.
Wish my tegu had been that tame. And i miss my mini varanus monitors. Wife just didn't like the food for them.
Maybe get some veggy eating uromastyx. Crazy colors. Shame she's snake phobic, get a chubby lil sand boa.
So many cool reptiles, thread is just memory laning me.
From the story...
"Most green iguanas Kimmel shoots are two- to four-feet long, and his biggest to date is a massive 6-footer that weighed 18 pounds. "
Regardless of pets and deliciousness, I have found no one that has successfully argued against my original statement... Florida Sucks.

I had a Iguana for two years, boring pet, gave it away to a friend that was into reptiles. He put it in a larger enclosure and killed it by accident by leaving a heat lamp on.
Besides that, yes, Florida sucks. I have been there several times and I have been all over the state. Alligators were the most prevalent road kill.
So who is gonna put one on the smoker this weekend?
"Regardless of pets and deliciousness, I have found no one that has successfully argued against my original statement... Florida Sucks."
No reason to argue against it(my family likes it and doesn't care what others think) and you listed no reasons why Florida sucks.
Check out the new Dirty Jobs episode where they take out the FL iguanas and turn them into fishing chum.
Poor lizards
These things are an invasive species, aren?t they?
Florida does have great cave diving!
...and it certainly gets you off the beaten path (very, very rural Florida in most cases).
O2
Florida sucks because of lizards? Is that like saying Colorado and Wyoming suck because of Pronghorn? [Dunno]
I didn't particularly enjoy Florida. Too many bugs. The humidity was almost unbearable. The alligators, the hurricanes. The drivers.
Driving from the airport, it seemed like the trees on either side if the road were slowly leaning in, like they intended to take Florida back. And I believed them, too.
I've got friends that live there, and they love it. It's just not my cup of tea.
We had them all over GTMO. Not supposed to feed them, but we did. They weren't tame, but we named the various ones and they were pretty loyal to the food sources.
Florida is fine by me. Great beaches, ocean, seafood, sun, and firearms friendly. Where else do you see $300k Bentleys doing 100mph on a wide open freeway at 11pm and no one gets upset? So many Ferraris, Porsches, AMGs, Martins, McLarens, and Lambos you lose count while eating a great $8 burger on the A1 south of West Palm Beach. Love visiting there but the area is changing. Getting flooded by transplants from NY, NJ. Housing prices have gone from very nice to damn expensive. My connection is moving out of the state. Just too many changes so not the same.
