Doesn't matter. There are no such things as Snow Days any more. :(

I?m going to do that work from home thing tomorrow. I guess a lot of people did it during that whole pandemic thing so I thought I?d give it a try and see what its like.
RIP, Snow Day.
Looks pretty whimpy, as of 7:36PM

Our kids school already called a snow day. I predict a bust.
Yup, mostly missed us. Just 2" at my place in Littleton. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...808e5f45dd.jpg
Arrgggggg. Drove 60 of 65 mile commute only to get the text that snow day was called, stay home. State hwy does not get plowed until I76 is in decent shape so had to blaze the trail this morning.
We had 6+ inches on the ground when I left the house at 0415 this morning. Wind was picking up and still snowing hard.
At least will have chance to dig out our road and driveway so as not to be snowed in tomorrow.
If you're unarmed, you are a victim.
I called a random phone number and said I wouldn't be in.They said OK.
when I left work yesterday I was told to plan a two hour late start. OK, so then I got a text at 10:17 last night, while I was sleeping, that called for a snow day.
Of course the last good snow we had they called for a late start, after I was already at work.
Apparently, it's the weatherman that's to blame.
Bust. Only got about a quarter-beagle's worth over here by Cherry Creek Reservoir.

Edit- Now, at 11:00, it is snowing heavier and looks like another inch or so has dropped. Might not be a bust afterall.
It appears that mother nature is making a mockery of our local weather forecasters. It seems the storm is not done with this part of the front range and is basically a blizzard going on now for the last couple of hours. Earlier I thought we were going to get off easy with just a couple inches and no drifts to contend with. NOPE, time to break out the snowblower, or will be soon enough.
Pulled my OnStar fuse. Onstar has been discontinued for a while now. Cold battery temps and trickle charger to keep low battery voltage from killing computer. Added yellow windshield wiper fluid (-20F), the blue stuff has been freezing up.
I miss the Florida swamp, the alligators and the gulls.
^LOL
Hard to tell up this way with the wind, somewhere around 4-6in definitely not enough to call a snow day.
Not sure the total in Aurora at the office but there are definitely drifts that are two beagles high or more.
Got up at 4 AM, left for work at 5:30 AM, took twice as long as usual but still arrived on time to get on the road. Dispatch lady says that work is canceled for the day, she would have texted but she only found out at 4:30 AM. I told her that I didn’t leave the house until 5:30 AM. Oh well, life goes on.
On the bright side I only had to shovel the driveway twice!!
In north eastern denver we got a solid 10" so far and its still coming down pretty good. Enough that I had to a reason to wear my gaitors while shoveling the driveway and walkways of my house. Had to shovel out my chicken coup too. Its about 2 1/2 chickens deep....I also used the opportunity to test some gear, I setup my new big agnes copper spur hv ul2 tent in the backyard last night, and its got about a foot on it, with big snow drifts on the sides. Im gonna wait until the storm is done snowing then check the inside for any leaks or issues. From looking at it, its handling the snow load very well atm, I also used all the guy out points and its handling the odd 30 mph gusts very well also. Hopefully its dry inside, so then I have a new tent I can trust in incliment weather. Also while shoveling, was wearing my hill people gear windcheater, with the new coyote ruff i just got from HPG. And Im SUPER stoked on that ruff purchase, it really works well to preheat the air you breathe and to keep blowing snow out of your face and keeps your face very warm as well. I used the windcheater as a shell over my sitka kelvin lite down jacket and so far it seems to be a very good layering setup for low to moderate output levels in about 22 degree F weather with 10-20mph constant wind with the odd 30mph gusts...
Saudi Aurora got about 8? of Heavy snow that packed down from it?s own weight. Made it a a little tough with my snowblower, guess I need to up the caliber and get an assault snowblower.
Still, better than shoveling says my lower back.
The bad thing though, at about 1300 hrs. my neighbor texted me that I left the drivers window open my car in the driveway??..[Mad]
I'm guessing you need to spend more time up here in the Springs area. You wouldn't be missing the gulls around here. This morning I watched a flock of seagulls (the birds, not the band) make a low pass over Hwy 94 just in front of me as I was headed to work.
Well played!

We got less than a bunny of snow today. Probably around a half inch of rain though. Nowhere for those little bastards to hide.
Here in Central Springs we barely got a cats paw.
How many units and of what type of animal did you guys in Fort Collins get?
I grew up in Lakewood during the 70's and 80's... Dr. John Pepper was the superintendent of Jeffco Schools, transferred in from International Falls, Minnesota. In the entire time I went to Jeffco schools, we had 1 actual snow day, and one day in 1983 when they let us out an hour early. Kids these days don't even walk to school, and they still get snow days...
In other news, we got a solid armadillo and a half of snow at the house in Aurora, maybe a guinea pig at the shop in Golden...
Dr Pepper was the Superintendent when I was in school to. I thought the rumor was he was from Alaska. In the entire time I went to Jeffco schools I only remember one snow day too.
Yesterday we got a good 14 inches of snow. Straight snow, not including drifts. It is great. However this morning some moron from Scottsbluff found out Hwy 85 was closed and decided to take backroads to Colorado. (by the looks of them to buy dope) They got stuck, they called a friend and they got stuck a mile away. I went out and asked if they were taking their kid to the hospital for a cancer treatment or someone to the hospital, because there was no other reason to be out with ground blizzards and unplowed roads. "no boss we just want to got to Denver". I told them because of their actions now the road was blocked so the road grader cant bust the drifts. I pulled the one vehicle out and put it in my driveway. It was fine, nothing broken, unstuck. He asked to borrow a shovel to go help his friend up the road get unstuck. He was wearing tennis shoes, a light coat, and no gloves. we gave him a shovel. They never got the other vechicle unstuck. He comes back and says he is going to go back the way he came. We told him not to and he wouldnt make it. 200 yards later....stuck. Now the snow damaged his lower fairing and he said a fuel line. He wants clamps, tools etc. I told him he got 1 chance for me to help him and he wasted it. I called dispatch and let them know there were 2 vechicles stuck on our road, but the road was impassable for a Deputy. They sent out the grader with the drift buster on it.
The asshole tried to steal my shovel and then lied about it. He kept calling me boss. I assume he has spent some time in jail/prison. Then he also wanted a phone charger. How do people get this stupid?
We had a wreck this morning and Hwy 85 got shut down and some lady told one of our firefighters she was going to go down Hwy 85 anyway. She didnt care if it was closed. She had to get to Colorado.
tldr: unprepared people are stupid.
I had forgotten that was his name. I recall two snow days but only one snow event. Anyhoo....
5.25" of snow in the Boulder foothills. Pretty underwhelming.
my PTO driven snowblower got a workout. Was reported that Elizabeth ended up with 12", and we had wind. Had some decent drifts to blow but the snow was powdery enough to blow good. Now get ready for the next 7-8" coming Sunday into Monday. If it comes with more wind, going to be some good sized drifts again.
I-25 is closed South of Pueblo. Check www.cotrip.org for updates.
in the last week we have been snowed in for 3 days and 2 days. We got a good 14 inches of snow or so. That was nice. No wind and it fell straight down.
Then the wind came. I have a large tracked skidsteer and I couldnt keep the road open for the 1/2 mile to the next road long enough to leave.
What you dont see is my house. The drifts block the view. My truck coming down the road in the pic.

Snow Day!
-John
Now that's a fair amount of snow by golly. And to think that more than 10% of the population in CO loses their minds when we get a dusting of snow.
This in the most snow I have seen since we had the blizzrard on the front range in 2005. Usually we get no snow here or in North East Weld where I lived before. This time it was a good snow. Im glad, my pastures all need the moisture. I am getting ready to seed 400 acres to grass that was in wheat before.
You guys have all the fun.
I was in Guam from 1-10 through 1-20.
82F pretty much every day.
