Carpal tunnel release surgery

Looking for folks with experiences having carpal tunnel release surgery - results, recovery times, pain levels, etc. This shit's getting bad, gotta do something.

I have never had carpal tunnel surgery, but what I can say is that before I would do any surgery, I would find a provider that offers soft wave therapy, usually a chiropractor that deals with sports.

It is amazing and usually 10 treatments.

I recommend looking into it as an alternative to invasive surgery

I had my carpel tunnel surgery performed by Dr. Yi. He is the surgeon that many Drs. use for their own personal surgeries. He uses a different method than most and it is much less invasive than the methods used by many other surgeons. My best friend had the same surgery performed at the asme time as mine with a different surgeon. His was the traditional method and it looked awful and it took a long time to heal. Take a look at the link I posted. My surgery was quick and very simple with minimal incision and healing/recovery time.

I have had both wrists done. Not at the same time. Left in 2010 through the Army and right around 2018 using TriCare here in the Springs.
The surgeries went well and you can’t even see the marks.
It took a few months of gradual healing and letting the nerves restore themselves but after that it was back to normal sensations and it has been fine ever since.
I have not had an issue with the surgery. Maybe just a bit of being able to fully extend my wrists backwards all the way. Think push ups type pressure. Other than that just fine.

Thanks, but I'm almost 70 and my CTS has been developing since the mid-70's, and is very severe. I don't have the money to dink around with non-surgical things, and my surgery will be covered by Kaiser & Medicare. The hand surgeon I've consulted with does shitloads of these operations, he's real good at it. I'm on the schedule fot November 12th, but I'm going to get accupuncture done first.

I haven't had CTS but did have cubital tunnel syndrome which affects nerves in the outer fingers. It came on quickly and I went to a top orthopedic surgeon when my Dr. advised a wait and see, which was terrible advice. The muscle wasting that happens from the constriction of nerves is very serious. What have you got to lose, get the surgery, Rondog, it's a simple outpatient procedure.

I'm on schedule for the left wrist in November, to see how it turns out. Then the right would be next. The cubitals would be further out, depending on the CTS results. Talking about a friggin' year to get it all done, since getting scheduled is such a beeyotch.
