An investigation is underway Saturday after a swastika was "displayed" and "visible" to those traveling on Interstate 70, near the city of Golden.
According to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, the swastika was reported around sunrise and is already being dismantled.

"We strongly condemn this vile, antisemitic symbol of hate. We stand united with our community against intolerance in any form. This shameful act does not reflect our community's values and will not be tolerated," said the county in a post.

This deeply disturbing incident serves as a painful reminder of the antisemitism and hate that continues to threaten our communities.

No, there’s a lot of actual anti-Israel dialogue happening right now… and increasingly so… i think this was absolutely someone intending to make a statement against that country, which is of course synonymous with antisemitism, given they’re a Jewish nation.

I mean I agree that is clearly it is a symbol of hate and can be antisemitic.
But at this point, with TDS in full effect, it could quite easily be some, whats the polite word, "Democrats" making a point.

Seems to me that the emblem is of sufficient size to require significant resources to pull it off. Because of that spontaneity from a drunk prank seems highly unlikely.

If it was a 'hate' group. what message is it sending? "Hey you dirty jews, as you race past at 70, don't forget, we're comin' fer ya!" There are many more effective ways to create fear and intimidation than a poorly rendered swastika made out of painter's tarps.

I don't buy the democrat psy-op/ antifa angle either. The fat, blue haired girls that make up their ranks would be much more likely to hang Palestinian propaganda then to scale a hillside at night to put up a swastika. And remember, antifa is purportedly anti-fascist. The swastika is a clear indication of a fascistic government- that would be going against their deeply seated, well informed beliefs.

If it is an anti-Israel message then those people are in the group of those too fucking stupid to separate Israel and the hate for Jews. There has been an incredibly large disagreement in Israel over how Netanyahu and his government mishandled the advance intelligence warning of a Hamas attack prior to Oct. 7 and the prolonged response.

A former Israeli co-worker described what it has been like in Israel as ?their Viet Nam?. Regardless if Jeffco is by some miracle able to catch these assholes let them be prosecuted to the full extent.

Colorado has had a long ugly history with these types of groups and they?re not going away. Fuck them and any that support them.

Littering is an easy one if it's public land. While there's all sorts of new charges in the books now, and I'm decidedly against the anti-semites; it's just a symbol. I also agree it's likely not that organized, and that doesn't look like it's all that much effort. Potentially young pranksters, definately someone attention seeking.

I'm much more a constitutionalist than I am a person that needs to squish everybody I disagree with. It shouldn't be there, as it's certain they didn't have permission to put it there. It needs removed. Someone also can't put up a massive ad that is unregulated.

But if some Neo wants to paint a massive symbol on the side of his house, well, it's a free country.
I'm not going to stand in the way of the people they piss off, either, actions have consequences. I just don't want to be like Germany (all such symbols banned) or Britan (don't hurt feelings).

If they catch 'em, they'll go for trespassing, vandalism and try to attach 'bias motivated' nonsense.

As has been discussed here before, the idea of 'hate speech' is nonsense since anything anyone says can be offensive to someone. I am with FoxArt that the Constitution allows for all speech, with some very narrow exceptions.

Being offensive is not criminal. Discounting trespassing and vandalism, this could be view as a freedom of expression issue. What is the tarps were arranged in a peace symbol?

That was thin, sloppy, asymmetrical... but at least it wasn't on its corner or backwards so it probably wasn't Leftists (who make the majority of swastikas nowadays, then screech they were "targeted").
