Just saw this too... http://https://www.usacarry.com/rumor-alert-glock-discontinuing-vast-majority-of-handguns-introducing-v-models-to-combat-switch-conversions/.
So, Sig Sauer under pressure and now Glock? CA banned Glock due to the switch issue, not sure that'll hold up legally, plus, grandfathered weapons everywhere in CA (Glocks). Glock still heavily in LEO armories...
Good thing all my weapons fell in a lake...
This is why all the attention...Attachment 99569
IMO as i posted in gt. So what, it's not like there's 1/2 mfg's making glock clones now. It's supposed to prevent someone from installing a g-switch. With lennu being the used car salesman for aftermarket parts, who knows.

The ?V? designation is supposed to indicate that model of Glock is modified to prevent conversion to utilize the ?Glock switch?.

So... Is Glock "Perfection" getting more perfect or less perfect?
New coke perfect. Catch the wave?
Some guy figures out how to override the trigger reset on Glock pistols, turning them full-auto.
California responds by banning all new Glock sales.
Glock then responds by redesigning the mechanism and setting a date for shipment.
Youtube "experts" declare all Glocks are banned forever and the sky is falling.
The lesson learned here is don't rely on Youtube for news.
Most innovative thing Glock's done since 1986-ish.
Glocks with Switches GET STITCHES...
This has been done in the past with other semi autos, notably the early AR15 which could accept a Lighning Link, the KG-9 which could be converted by filing the bolt, the open bolt MACs which could be converted multiple ways, and the Uzi which just needed the bolt and recoil spring replaced and a bit of filing.
All were banned, but grandfathered so not unlawful to own, the manufacturers all made small changes to make them less easy to convert.
Supposedly, Glock is the most popular handgun platform in America.
Soooo..... do I rush to pick up a couple G17s now that I wanted to add to the safe, or wait for the glockarians to sell off old models when they rush to the newest version?
If you already have Gen 3/4 models (or even Gen 5), I'd buy some spare parts. I never loved the Glock frames, but there are some awesome aftermarket frames. Lone Wolf Arms makes one that is exceptional (at least for me). I've been thinking of buying a few frames to replace the crappy frames on my Gen 4's, but really, there is so much out there to consider these days :).
Pretty good explanation of the legal situation: https://youtu.be/FLBhNxEOERI?si=-aEIx88bf0J8CIfE
