I echo the sentiments everyone else has expressed. We want you back here safe and sound when your time is up.
It doesn't matter if you are serving in uniform or serving as a contractor, in the end, you're still serving!
Don't be thin skinned though..... While I was active duty, we used to have all sorts of great nicknames for contractors. You WILL be a target of this - but it's all in good fun and humor. Now, I am a scum-sucking contractor, but at least I'm earning a real paycheck for once.
Due to security reasons and confidentiality agreements, I cannot tell you who I work for, but I can tell you I'm a heavy equipment mechanic, and I will be in Balad, Iraq.Quote:

Had a friend go over after the first Gulf War, was there all of 3 weeks and they sent them all back, also heavy equipment stuff. Be careful they had to live in a prison type compound, he said he was glad they got cancelled.

I always felt sorry for those guys. I saw a few of the "compounds" in SA and Kuwait. For me after everybody left and I went from 1st ID to the 22nd subcom life was good. Had my own Jeep Cherokee and a room at Kobar. :)Quote:
