I've seen these "exploding targets" made of little half pound jars of tannerite and stuff.... might be fun to take to the range tomorrow....
Is there a place in the Springs where I can purchase a few of those? Dicks, Wally World, etc?
Thanks.

You have to order the Tannerite from online and I doubt any pay range will let you use them.
That's what I understand, but it's been a while since I've checked. I'm under the impression that you COULD make it, IF you know the recipe, but you are better off just ordering it since it is legal to do so.
Rgr that... I'll leave the making it to the pros.. It'd be nice if there were a local source instead of mail call.
PM coming your way Bear.

Thanks Carey, just a little late though. Got the go ahead (with rolled eyes) from the missus. "But hon, it's only $10 and it BLOWS UP!!!" "You're such a guy..."[ROFL1]
Maybe next time. Take care.
It is official Stuart is a PYRO (takes one to know one)
You should just buy them, the ingredients will get you on a "watch List"
Sportsman guide sells them. Or online
They fall under the same category's as black powder.
I ordered some a few weeks ago from here....
https://www.tannerite.com/
think it was 140ish shipped for 40 1/2lb targets.
U can also order from cabellas. They are called StarTargets. But mind you they are loud as hell. you can hear them about 5-6 miles on a half pounder. We blew some up a few weeks ago. THEY ARE AWESOME!!!
I didnt know that aluminum and iron would get you on a "watch list".
*puts on tin foil hat*....... it will get you put on the list! lol
the tannerite is fun, a friend has a range set up at his house out east and we put a 1lb can on top of a pile of pallets(target stands) and it turned them in to toothpicks. they are a little rowdier than I thought they would be. I wasnt expecting the boom those little things make. Like most stuff you buy online its either really cool or a waste of money.
I got a half pound of the stuff I bought a little over a year ago....dont forsee ever getting to use it...damn impulse buys :p
I remember going to the ***** **** range years & years & years ago with my first handgun... I bought a couple of those little exploding targets because I saw a few hit earlier & they looked really cool!
However, I couldn't hit mine to save my life, so I put a paper target behind it so I could see where I was hitting. I finally hit it, and HOLY HELL!!! it lit the paper target on fire QUICK!!! [Eek2]
Kind of scary to think about it now, as the "range master" didn't even notice, but it's a fond memory.
Man Bear, I've never heard of these before. They look like a lot of fun.
I won't be making it to the range as my brother and his girlfrend are coming into town sometime early (today!).
I'm hoping to find some at the tanner show next week ... maybe I should just order some on line instead .
