Here is also a 5th stanza adopted by the north during the American Civil War:

I'm curious. Any of you know how many of these stanza's were actually written by Francis Scott Key? I'd wager a guess that the 5th stanza was NOT a Key original stanza.

Ebil joose aside, I've been reading a lot of books on the Revolution and the early history of America lately. Its kind of suprising how far we've gotten from the Founders' intent and how different things are today. Even the manner in which the Vice-President is elected is completely different (used to be the runner up, rather than a candidate attached to the Presidential candidate).
