I was a sophomore in High School in California, and all I was thinking about was my motorcycle and girls. (Not necessarily in that order!) At the time I was still sure I wasn't going into the military under any circumstance. Yeah, and almost 24 years later...[Abused]
... I knew I was going to join this forum one day.
The funniest part about it, I didn't know about Uncle Ronnies "Grenada Adventure" until Dec. [Abused]
Wow... exactly a year and three months old to the day! [Beer]
Training in Canada for Sarajevo Winter Olympics of 1984
I was already older then [Beer]
I was seven
Sometimes it does not seem that long ago. I was 21 and tired of being a line wrench at a Lyman Slack Chevrolet in Portland. So on August 14th 1980 I got on a plane to Ft lost in the woods.
12 years later they offered me $40,000 not to reenlist and a job as a civilian. Now, just over 30 years after it started I have a few more to go. :)
My parents hadn't even met yet.....[Tooth]
yeah, i was 4 in '83...
My father was 24 I guess, like a few have said I was still a few years down the road
Ha ha ha my parents were only 15.... I was born 91 so 8 years down the line....
I was at my retirement party...........yup, retired from diapers! I was about 3. Dude....your old. That's cool I will be there in June. Officially 30 and not to be trusted.
I was "sweating bullets" because Ronald Reagan was President, Ed Meese was Sec. of State, and William Reinquest was a Supreme Court Justice!
I hated Meese's to piece's!
I wasn't even born yet. Bunch of old farts around here. [Coffee]
I was ~4 months behind you only headed to Ft Dix (<-- to this day I'm still pullin' sand outta my ass from that place).
ETS'd in 88'...time fly's eh? Served under the Reagan Administration, couldn't imagine doing so under Klinton or this rat-fuck socialist regime of today (greatly respect those that do though, any branch).
'83.... 3 years old.... I believe we were in Spain at that point.
My hat's off to you Marlin!!
Funny how you remember those dates the rest of your life [ROFL1] I remember sitting at the USO in Louisville KY at 10:30 pm on June 3rd '03 when the first drill came in to get us on the bus to go to Knox. Then 2003/09/28 when I got on the plane at the same airport to leave Knox.
I was 7 years old in 83.
I was 14 so in 1983 about half an hour ago ... and in about half an hour ... and then every hour after that I was ... well y'all know.
102nd anniversary of the shootout at the OK Corral!
My Father in law is currently at Knox. Supposedly 'posed to be coming to Carson, but we'll see. They're threatening to kick him out, lol, career soilder (I think almost 30 years), tank commander, seen more tours (frontlines stuff too) then I can name, highest enlistesd rank (SGM, E9 I believe) etc.
It'll be great if he does come to Carson, lots of range time!!!
On this day in 1983...
I had ETS'ed from Ft. Ord for 2years and 6 months and had a pony tail down to the middle of my back.
I was a junior in high school, brand new driver's license in my pocket and a 1973 Ford Mustang I paid $350.00 for, leaking oil on the driveway!
I was (-)2...
1983 was the date when my grandpas died.. :(
I wasn't born yet...still had a little over 2 years to go!
