What to buy?
So I have some money in my pocket and I need to spend it. I have it narrowed down to two choices and they both cost about the same.
1) A new complete AR lower. Then I can stick my "loose" upper on it and have three ARs.
2) A Romanian SAR1. (An evil AK clone.)
So what do you think?
-
I voted the SAR1 because if you dont have one you should have one. But if you allready have one then that is a tuff choice. They are both  and fun.

-
I'd go with the SAR if you don't have an 7.62x39 yet.
-
Yup, you got a fully functional AR, you NEED that AK clone. Karl.
-
I have a Yugo SKS but do not have a AK or AK clone. I tried to buy one off a member here but he nad the nerve to sell it to a friend. I got my heart set on it, then when it fell through I wasn't sure.
I have two functional AR rifles. So you guys think I need the SAR?
-
Yea, get the SAR, of course if your still undecided, send me the money and I'll get the SAR
-
Maybe I should add a third poll response.
1) AR-15 Lower
2) SAR 1
3) Give the money to Marlin
-
:D I'm here for you, Boss
-
now that's what I'm talking about..
the level of kindness that'll make a man go out of his way to help someone else here on this board!
-
I voted SAR-1, I love mine.
-
JG sales usually has them for 289 or something like that. Then you just need an FFL to ship them too.
-
Actually, I'd change the SAR-1 to a SAR-2, as I already have 2 SAR-1s, and I want to try the smaller cartridge.

SAR-1, no doubt! Cheap thrills. Everything, ammo included is affordable and very easy to find.My only regret since buying the RomAK is that the
"black rifle" is gathering lots of dust these days! Sorry Mr.Eugene Stoner :(
-
re
Ouch Bbadmin, I think that was directed at me. That hurts my feelings ( ok not really )
Dude they are SUPER easy to pick up. Look for AK47 man at the gunshows. he always has them or call Lois at centerfire systems.... www.centerfiresystems.com. they both sell them for just under $300.
If youre still bitter at me, meet me at the show this sunday, ill buy one and then sell it to you in a private sale
hahahahahahaq

Yea I'm bitter........ But after all the sugar hits me from these Crispy Creme donuts, I'll be sweet again. (Sick to my stomach, but sweet.)
I'm trying to get one ordered now. My usual source has his FFL on file at SOG and they have them in stock. They have the regular stock and the laminated stock versions. (Lamintaed stock is $20 more.) I didn't see any SAR2 or SAR3 rifles in stock.
But if I can't get one by Sunday maybe I'll take you up on that gunshow offer.
-
re
Sar 2 & 3's are pretty much history now........
the lamimnated sar 1's are pretty sweet! Have you seen one of those
-
re
Actually AIM surplus still has SAR-2's still and pretty cheap too!
-
I can never get this striaght. The SAR2 is 5.45 and the SAR3 is .223?
-
re
correct....
the sar 2, which is my avatar picture is sweeet. But the only problem i see with it is ammo availability.545 is not that good.
ak47 man usually has it at the shows for $130 /1000 rounds.
you know come to think of it, ive never even shot my either of my sar 2's yet.....ill be bringing them the the exploding pumpkin shoot for sure!
-
I assume that's a Kobra sight on the SAR2?
-
how did you ever guess :D
My other SAR 2 I turned into a project gun as it was thrashed when I picked it up. Never been shot but looked like it was handled buy a bunch of kids that just threw it around quite a bit.
So i had it re-parkerized, sanded and put one of those locking wire folder s on it. bought a Bulgarian mount and a NCstar red dot for it.........thats the one I want the MB welded on.
By the way thnaks for the contact, i sent him a message!
from what I hear they a FUN as hel to shoot and the Nill recoil is a huge benefit!
-
So which Kobra is it? I hear the second generation sights are out.
-
sent you a picture of te project sar 2

I'm going to need a bigger budget....
Don't know about that stock though. Looks like a tough cheek weld.
-

The more I read the more I like the SAR2. Still really like the SAR1, but I may end up with one of each someday.
