68 VW beetle
a friend of mine bought one, body is in great shape, needs sanded, and painted.
just a single tone paint job.
I need to know if anyone knows of a good shop or maybe if you do it and need some work.
thanks!

A friend huh?
Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiight [Awesom]
Krylon.
My neighbor paints cars freelance, I'm going to have him do my Willys CJ5 when the time comes. Want details? Send me a PM, I can hook you up with him. Nice guy, a young Czech feller. Speaks great English.
Your gonna laugh but if you have it fully prepped and ready to shoot Maaco aint half bad for the price.
One of the BIL's has a couple hotrod buddies that have gotten decent paint jobs out of them. Not show quality, but functional decent paint jobs.
The key is having ALL of the prep work done beforehand. You want them to be able to degrease it, seal it, prime and color shoot it.
Brother in-laws brother has been painting cars on the side for over 20 years and has been featured in a bunch of magazines (hot rod, etc). I'll shoot you a pm with his number.

My grandfather painted his old datsun pickup with a brush and rustoleum in a gallon can. Didn't look half bad, from a distance.
Rhino coat or hurculine it. Hard to chip.
I liked it when Wally world had the Gl cans for $39. Painted a wagon with it.
Having painted a few cars I get a kick out of some that when I tell them that I have $800 in materials alone.....
And I will agree that prep is the key. I have spent many months for just one day in the booth.
