It was good to see the boys in blue giving y'all a warm howdy-do at the Nederland city limits.

What's funny is I know 2 people in that group and I ALMOST joined them on the cruise yesterday, but ended up staying at the gun show...
So, what were they doing?
(Your pic is a red X)
They were ripping it up on the busiest time in Boulder Canyon. Passing on blind curves. One almost had an up close and personal with an oncoming RTD bus. Flipping people off as they passed.
There were drivers pulling over, talking to the cops, to add to the list of stuff.
I do hope your driving etiquette is a little better than some of these jackwagons.
I wave at people as I pass them on blind turns ;)
who in the hell would buy a nissan or hyundai?
that is right up there with being a prius owner.
This guy works at my office [Tooth]
I spoke to forum member spitlink, who was amongst those groups, and says that there are one or two douchebag drivers in the group, but the majority of them were more respectful of the road.
its a shame they didn't end up like the group of cars at the daytona 500.
Sounds like the bicyle crowd that hauls ass down and chugs 2 abreast up it.
I got to witness one of the greatest things a couple years back. brought warm and fuzzy feelings! Let me start off by saying I absolutely HATE the boulder bicyclists, or any of them for that matter that believe they own the road.
Was driving on Foothills hwy (7 or 36) between boulder and lyons heading up to estes.
4 bicyclists spread across the entire lane, plus their little bicycle lane. I think the speed limit is 55 or 60...they were doing 20-25. they created a line that was about 8 cars when I got to the back end, right behind a monster motor-home. the cars in front of the motor-home were able to get past, most flipping off or honking at them. they paid no attention of flipped the drivers off and continued to take up the whole lane.
Then the motor-home was next, couldn't get past because the oncoming traffic wasn't spaced good enough to get by. this went on for probably a good mile or two. the motor-home would lay on his horn for a while and the guy on the outside (middle of the road), would just flip him off and keep biking.
Finally the motor-home found the space, got next to the bicyclists and just started moving over...all the way into the bike lane and drove all 4 of the bicyclists off the side of the road where all but one wrecked![LOL]
I laughed soo hard it hurt! It was something I would have love to do but would never have the guts to do it for fear of killing someone of them denting my truck or something.
I pulled up next to the guy at the left turn toward lyons with my window rolled down and gave him a huge thumbs up!

Now that is FREAKING HILARIOUS, I would have paid big bucks to see that, damn I hate cyclists who think they own the road (and share the road license plates).
Just goes to show how a couple of people can FUBAR it for the rest of us.
BTW I have four registered vehicles and I bike. I'm guessing I pay more than enough road taxes.
There is a single file law in this state. Not sure why it's not enforced more.
He's a nice guy :)
For my fellow south park fans....
1. Hurl stick into spokes
2. ???
3. Profit
Also, I am the only one who's surprised there is a Hyundai car club? I mean, I'm not knocking the car (I've heard they're quite good, especially the new genesis or whatever it is), but really?
I'm sure there are many that would be surprised that there is an AR-15 rifle club too. No I don't own a Hyundai.
They have small peni, therefore the need for little cars they think go FAssst...
I have a solution for road hogging bicyclists and moving roadbloack Harley pirates -

The cyclists were clearly in the wrong and that kind of behavior pisses me off as much as the next guy, however, endangering lives is only funny until one is lost. The driver of the RV would have gone to prison. If you don't think being run off the road on a bicycle is life threatening, try it sometime. I've been run off before (riding out of the way of traffic on the shoulder by a vehicle in the oncoming lane) and barely missed a concrete culvert that could easily have put me down for good.
DO NOT turn this into another bicycle Thread. The all suck we know it let it be.
your situation is one that drivers run into on a daily basis. the road is dangerous and that is a fact. riding a motorcycle is dangerous enough, even when you have larger size, loud exhaust and headlights and brake lights. bicycles usually have none of those, other than a tightly squeeze brightly dressed spandex pedeler. with that in mind I think bicycles should only be allowed on designated bicycle lanes unless they can keep up with the speed limit. they don't like to ride of sidewalks, and that is where I believe they belong. I would rather see a bike on pedestrian collision than I would a bike on truck or bike on semi, or even a bike on prius, although the later would make me laugh.
the guys in my story more than deserved what they got. I personally hoped their bikes were destroyed, and I would love to watch it happen again.
Question for you car guys: I'm not sure if I already asked this or not but...
What is the point in buying a $20K car and then sinking $30k into it? Why not buy the $50K car to start with?
Is it the available modding or you can get more out of those particular engines, or what's the deal?
The same reason you put $3,000 worth of accessories on a $1,500 gun, instead of just buying a $5,000 gun from the get go.
For most people it's easier to drop small amounts of $ over time rather than dropping a lot of $ all at once.
Lots of reasons. When I bought my 2000 Z28 in the fall of 99 I paid mid 20's for it. Over the next 2 years I put 15k in aftermarket work into it. So I was able to spread the cost over time. Then I modified the car exactly how I wanted it. You can't find a car off the lot setup like my 2000. I went for drag racing at Bandimere and made choices that hurt the on road driving but paid off awesome at the track. You won't see GM putting 4.56 gears into a car, or a cam that barely idles at 1,100 rpms. The ride ended up very poor on the street due to making the rear suspension very stiff and the front very loose, yet I ended up pulling 1.7x 60' times and running mid 12's.
Dyno'ing 405HP/390TQ at the rear wheels was very nice. Maybe next year I'll fix the car and start racing it again.
I totally agree with you. I remember kids at school with their Honda's and such that they had dumped 10's of thousands into just to make it run in the 12's or 13's at thefastest, then I buy my 750 dollar mustang, dump just over a 1500 into it, and am running circles around them! Those cars are economy cars, not sports cars! haha
