Are we allowed to shoot in the Boulder County Open Space? We own property up near Left Hand Canyon off Neva Road and there is a huge open space area there where cattle graze on in the summer. Is it fair game to shoot out there? There are a few houses there, but nothing near the open space or at least where I was eyeballing the other day.
My understanding is no, I have been trying to find out though. BLM and most national forests yes, as long as you are 150 feet away from any established road, trail, or building.
it is public land so you would think you shoul dbe able to, but i dont know for sure and would hate to see any one get in trouble based on what is aid.

And yes it is leagal to poses a firearm on open space.

talk about a mind fuck. basically it is our land, but boulder county is allowed to do research and use it for other purposes.....as long as its not open to the public and they aren't drilling for oil or natural gas.

you can walk on the trails they have runnign through them.....but yo9u can't be more than 5 feet off the trail.
