I watched a guy run a red light. He had his left shoulder holding his phone up to his ear so his left elbow could steer while his left hand held a note pad. His right hand was busy writing on the pad. He was looking at what he was writing and completely missed seeing the red light. He didn't miss the car he broadsided or the 13 year old girl that he killed in the car.
It really sucked.
Not the driver, but I was riding home one night on my bike and pulled next to a Hummer 2 packed full of guys watching pornography on the entertainment system inside.
Women working on her laptop with right hand, eating with her left hand, steering with her knees, oblivious to traffic on I25 near the DTC.
I was driving through South Park following an old ranch truck. He was going pretty slow. Had his left signal on when I got behind him so I didn't pass because I thought he was turning. After a couple miles he hadn't turned so I started to pass thinking that he must have forgot his signal on. Right at that moment he started swerving back and forth across the yellow towards me (kinda like indy cars do during a yellow flag) and as I passed he opens his door, hangs out the side of the truck shaking his fist and flipping me off. I guess he did actually want to turn because he turned left just as our bumpers pass each other but he was still hanging out the door. Then his front driver's side quarter panel swiped a fence post on the left side of the road he turned onto. He must have got back inside his truck just in time for the post to hit his door and slam it shut because I saw in my rear view that he kept driving down the road like nothing happened...the knocked over fence post thought otherwise.
Maybe not the stupidest I've ever seen but on the way to work the other day I looked over and saw a girl talking on one cell phone while texting on another, and of course steering with her knees.
Years back some dude was rubbing one off while driving down the interstate. No entertainment systems back then, so I'm assuming he had a good imagination.Quote:

I've always been against the cell phone while driving laws. They are bad drivers to begin with, so its not so much as "if" but "when" they will wreck.
Saw a soccer mom once on Parker Road, in heavy traffic between Hampden and 225, holding a cellphone in her right hand, her baby (yes, her baby) in her left arm. Not sure if she was steering with her knees or with her left hand but I just backed it down and let her get waaaayyyyy ahead of me.
Or a week and a half ago when our neighbor wiped out on a motorcycle, broke the bottom strand of the barbed wire fence with her face. Said she froze up taking a curve on a dirt road and when she got in the ditch, she tensed up and opened the throttle. New rider, though, so very little experience. Over a thousand stitches. Lucky the fence didn't get to her neck.
