Given that Obimination fired him because of the supposed remarks what happens now?
I thought I heard in the news recently Obama had just chosen McChrystal to head some gov't committee.
wait, rolling stone magazine, a noted liberal piece of trash LIED in their article about our military????????
color me shocked (not)
Free Speach????????????????????
Is This Ringing A Bell With Anyone.
Freedom of speech??? In the military? I don't think so.
McChrystal is now head of Military Families Commission. His military career is still over. Seems funny that Obama appionts him to this position the day before he is cleared by the Army. Sounds like he is covering his ass. McChrystal still needs to run for President and get to return the favors to Obama!
Yep...that's it...Military Families Commission.
McChrystal for prez!
Article 88 of the UCMJ- Contempt towards officials
“Any commissioned officer who uses contemptuous words against the President, the Vice President, Congress, the Secretary of Defense, the Secretary of a military department, the Secretary of Transportation, or the Governor or legislature of any State, Territory, Commonwealth, or possession in which he is on duty or present shall be punished as a court-martial may direct.”
On and since this is a punitive article he could actually spend time in jail.
More specifically: Maximum punishment.
Dismissal, forfeiture of all pay and allowances, and confinement for 1 year.
Thankfully I'm a non-commisioned officer, so screw the elected officials.
I'm not surprised he was cleared. "I saw nothing. I heard nothing." would be the most common, and smartest response to the investigators.
To me the dumbest thing of the whole story was letting a reporter from Rollingstone hang around, especially during jet lagged boozy conversations. They must have assumed he was your basic reporter who would never do anything to ruin his access. For a guy who worked with intelligence it was a really bad idea to not check the background of the guy who will be following you around for a week.
