Is the Frontier Gun Club at Falcon still operating?
Welcome...
Yes it is, http://frontiersportsman.org/
Number of members on this board. The also have the Fountain range.
CMP 200yd fun shoot is second sunday, come on out.
I am a member. Though I shoot at the Fountain range.[Wave]
Is the membership coordinator still a member here? I'm only a few miles from the Falcon site and would love to check out the facility before I send in my application.
Yes I'm still here. I have been busy with renewals and haven't visited this site in some time. If you would like to tour the Falcon Range, show up there this coming Sunday 5-15 between 8am and 11am. The gate will be open and locked back for the monthly CMP shoot.
Fountain Range will be open for orientation of new members Saturday 5-14 at 10am . Gates will be closed (must keep the cattle in) but unlocked. All that are interested may tour this facility at that time.

See you on the range.
I think that works perfectly for me, I'll try and swing by Sunday morning. Thanks!
Hate to bring an old thread back to life, but...
I was flying a few nights ago and we snuck just east of the Frontier South Range.
The rumors about Frontier actually moving dirt to build the 200, 300 yard and meter, 600, 800, 900 and 1,000 yard range is true.
It is about 10-12 years late, but it is happening.
Crappy picture I know, but it was getting dark.

Thanks for the picture! I haven't been down to Hanover in forever, might be worth a trip to check out progress.
been on the hanover waiting list for over two years now
Hoping against all hope that I'll be offered a membership this year. It isn't looking too likely though as it looks like the wait list is 3-4 years now. Maybe I got my app in before the bulk of apps went in; it's been more than a year, but not 3-4.
Just renewed my membership... (duck and cover). :-)

I just put myself on the WL.
The Hanover Range is the only established range that I can find in CO that allows night shooting.
I'm tired of doing my night shooting in questionable places, and want to come out from the cold and go legit.
The CMP is an informal 50 round shoot. Sighting time from 8-9 then the standard 10/10/10/20. 5-10 people is the norm. Run mostly like a CMP but they start from position. You keep your own score and no one seems to compare.
yas at the falcon range, about 10 minute south of falcon.
If never shot at night, what is the draw? What type of shooting are you doing? Using tac lights or NV?
im a member so might be willing to take you if it sounds interesting and you don't mind a tag along.
To be blunt, the advantage of night shooting is this... think about any situation where you might need a gun. Is it day or night? Are you in a dark parking lot? Is it in the middle of the night in your house? Is it a bright sun shiny day? Things are different when you can't see. Manipulating a light and a gun takes practice. Clearing a malfunction in the dark takes practice. Just knowing what a muzzle flash in pitch black looks like is good to know. Not to mention knowing what the output of you wml looks like at any sort of distance. I'm not saying it's the end all of shooting, but there are some valuable lessons to be learned.
Well, my membership just expired, so there should be at least 1 new spot open for you guys! Enjoy the range for me. [Beer]

Thanks to HoneyBadger not renewing his membership, I got my letter of acceptance yesterday. It'll be in the mail with initial payment and proof of NRA membership on Monday.
Hope to meet some of y'all out there. Just began my third year of membership. You'll know me if you see the MT logo in the top left of the rear glass. Maybe a group shoot is in order?

Just put myself on the list.
Am I supposed to get some confirmation email?
It’s been a long time since I joined, but there didn’t used to be any communication until you were next in line to join. The process may have changed of course.
I was down there last week shooting on the 1,000 yard range. Had the place to myself.

I just fell in love with that range...
I am absolutely up for a group shoot. I hit the south range quite a bit with a few folks on this board.
Does anyone know what the current wait is running?
