I only saw elk as well. I didn't draw and wasn't expecting to. Archery hunting for me this year. Maybe I will pick up a leftover cow tag for rifle season

Just noticed that I screwed up in my unit selection. I meant to select unit 61 to get a preference point and intended to hunt in another unit with an otc tag. I just noticed that I got a tag for bull elk 1st season unit 62, I wonder if I have any options now. Guess I need to contact the DOW. I know I can turn the tag in and keep the point, just not sure if I can still get an over the counter tag then.
Only seeing elk up but at the bottom where it shows your current points I have a 0 in the deer column. I had 1 point left from last year think that means I got it?
Got the shaft again "Elk", my 15 year old son also. Now he has 3 pref points, next year I guess..........................[Rant1]

My dad, brothers and I all drew for deer, no one drew an elk tag. We go third rifle.

Didn't get elk but got drawn for deer(doe). I do my antelope(doe) hunting in Wyoming. Guess I'll pick up a OTC bull tag.
Muzzleloader buck tag for the Hayman Burn area. Should be a gimmie this year.
Also noticed I have two speed goat preference points that I should use next year.
I haven't made the move to Colorado yet, but I have land out there all ready to build on.

That is no bullshit!! The laws are a nightmare; the GMU's are way over complicated. Plus the point system is complete nonsense. I have talked to guys who work at the DOW who "know" the system and the get shut out on hunting all the time. Draw only for deer is a flipping joke. When I was a kid a deer tag was gift with purchase when you bought anything at the sporting goods/hardware store. not being able to grad a deer tag over the counter is RETARDED!!![Rant1]Quote:
