I can't even imagine why people would think this is a good idea.
I am definitely not trying to start a militia or a revolution, but how and when do we as freedom loving Americans peacefully put an end to the erosion of our freedom? Can we find State Representatives to write legislation restricting the scope of the TSA within Colorado, before we have roving TSA searches on our city streets?
What is really scarey is the lack of people prostesting the violations of their rights = stupid sheep.
+1... Agreed, enter Gestapo and the Police State. If I'm ever stopped and illegally searched by these Nazi muffins I'll just get the name of the man in charge and write as high up as I have to that they are violating my 4th Amendment rights.Quote:

1 - Is this really happening this way and not some dumb ass radio host trying to make a name for himself.
2 - If it is real, how can this be allowed without more outrage than this one persons article? I know for a fact that there are patriots in this country.
3 - If this is real how can we put a stop to it?
Reading that article just took 12 years off my life.
It's hard to find a nice medium for security. You want to feel safe and have the bad guys caught before they commit any mass murders but you don't want to be bothered with going through the screenings yourself because you know that you are one of the good guys. I don't think that tearing a bus apart on a whim is a good use of our money and I don't think they need helicopters and boats. TSA should stick to airports, bus and train stations. Leave the rest up to people who know what they are doing. I do see how it is somewhat within there right to search a bus ( a mode of transportation that they control), but they need to know what they are looking for. "large sums of cash" can be left up to interpretation and is not acceptable. I am ok with them searching for bombs, gas, and wmd's. Also, don't think for a second that you are going to take my gun from me.

Sure you can feel free to search my stuff, yeah if it helps dissuade terrorists... The moment we allow this to happen they've already won. Some pansy up on the hill thinks that anything can be a prime target for terror and wants to lock this place down tighter than a republican's butt at a gay parade. With PC growing and fear spreading our nation is headed in the wrong direction.

Hell no, in the absence of law people will usually police themselves. It's not like we're advocating a vacuum here, we just use something that doesn't have the range of the TSA's "Authority." Maybe get rid of the TSA was wrong word choice... limit their powers and try and stay away from becoming a police state. In Mother Russia police can shoot violators with AK-47 rifle. The real issue I have with all of this is that it's merely window dressing. NOT ONE SINGLE credible threat has been stopped by an airport pat down. No firearms that made it through the existing metal detectors, no bombs, no biological or chemical weapons. Yet, these invasive searches have become accepted after the initial uproar. Airlines are no more or less secure now than they were pre-9/11, but the ability of the .gov to infringe on your rights because of your choice in transportation has risen exponentially. Airport security has holes that one could quite literally drive a truck through. Biggest joke ever: We went on vacation to Hawaii in 2005. As my daughter-in-law worked for United at the time, we flew on buddy passes, and lucked out by getting first class seats from Hell-A to Maui. Dinner rolls around, and we're served on a ceramic plate, with a metal fork and spoon, a real glass drinking glass, and a plastic friggin knife. Exactly what did they accomplish by taking the dull metal knife away? "Congratulations! You've just foiled the world's stupidest terrorist..."
The TSA is a perfect example of a government agency in a runaway power grab, trying desperately to justify their existence. The "War on Terror" has given the .gov carte blanche to run roughshod over our Constitutional rights by holding up the terrorist boogeyman any time anyone objects.
Let's make their funding contingent on concrete, objective results, not nebulous threats that may or may not be credible.
Don't even get me started on them confiscating "large amounts" of cash...this is nothing more than extortion, on a mammoth scale. [Rant1]
Name a single event that the TSA has ever prevented in the history of their existence please. Terrorists will do whatever they want with, or without the TSA. If you think the TSA has prevented a damn thing, you're only fooling yourself. Looks like my best friend TFOGGER beat me to the punch.
