Two nights ago I'd say. In jest.
Got some super hot .44 mag ammo and the thought has crossed my mind a couple times this evening good thing I do not have to be to work early tomorrow. it is a god damn war zone up here
Most people up here know they WILL get their ass shot off if they set off fireworks as dry as it is.
Guns??? Not so much.
i have a 4 month old with these cool nights, we like to leave the windows open. Last night after i got fed up, i shut the windows, and capped off a .223 from my AR with a mini Y-Comp. Everyone stopped after that! Lets see what happens tonight.
Sitting in a dry field watching all the fireworks of the city tonight, some dumbass kept lighting sparkler after sparkler and giving it to his five year old to swing around in the field.
i am losing my cool very rapidly with the kids and the mortars ......
Me too... got a couple lbs of black powder hanging out contemplating winning this whole big boom thing
Strict enforcement my ass.
I am all for celebrating the 4th one of my favorite holidays but I would bet next weeks pay check that most of these yahoo's still out popping off fireworks have never read the constitution. Or have any idea what today actually symbolizes.
Your post could just as easily have been typed by me - exact same situation here. Boy oh boy have I wanted to do a little "discharging of a firearm within the city limits" tonight.
It's a quarter after midnight and while it's slower down a lot, it's still going on.
Good thing I took the day off on Tuesday so I can take my son to a Dr's appt.
Don't none o' y'all be callin' me for bail.....
three little turds started setting some off at 1245AM behind my house a couple nights ago, talk about wanting to get out in the field and beat down some teenagers! I wish I'd had a BB gun, those shitheads would remember me every time they tried to sit down for the next couple days
We were in Glendo Wyoming on Sunday night. They open up the mowed very dry field at the airport for anyone who wants to shoot fireworks. I would say about ever 45 seconds a fire in the grass would start and 5 seconds later 10 people would run out (between mortars and such) to stomp it out. Quite the experience for sure.
Edit: just saw this and thought I would share!

Last night, probably a little before midnight, I very distinctly heard semiautomatic gunfire. It was definitely NOT fireworks. My fiance and I looked at each other and just went "wow". I'm glad it wasn't that close to me.
I hope no one was hit or shot by any of the random (ish) gunfire last night. I saw the awesome fireworks show put on every year by Indian Hills Fire/Rescue. 2nd Year in a row and this year beat out last year. Of course up in the mountains (Baileyguns knows this well) it's a common sight (er audio) for gunfire to go off after a big fireworks show... But of course Jeffco Sheriff had more important things to do than go after punk kids- harass a couple guys I know for less than legally parking outside Golden.
Gotta admit, it would have been fun to bump-fire a 30 rd. mag of tracers from the AR up into the air.
Who doesn't enjoy blowing crap up at least once a year? I wish I had the time and money to go buy some fireworks from Wyo and light them off last night.
Idk how to say this nicely so...quit complaining about the noise and such, at least ppl still sort of celebrate Independence Day. If it really bothers you sleep with ear plugs in, it only happens once a year.
nvm
Every Independence Day and NYE you can hear idiots doing mag dumps in the alleys around here. Last night, starting about 0100, it sounded like someone was detonating a pipe bomb every 20 minutes until nearly 0300, and I'm right in Capitol Hill. I'm guessing they were tossing quarter sticks in the dumpster a block away.
Yeah, there have been firework "shows" every weekend I've worked for the last three weeks or so.
