Just to avoid the traffic congestion on I-70 in the mountains.
I think I have spent about 20 hours in the truck over the last several weeks when I should have spent maybe 9 or ten. [Rant1]

Is "lane splitting" (or "lane sharing") illegal in Colorado? Maybe I should take the bike.
I think so, but I see people doing it anyway. It makes me absolutely furious unless I'm completely stopped. One time I saw a guy going just slightly faster than the rest of traffic, but it was a pretty bad traffic jam and he was all the way on the shoulder, so I just thought he was lucky to be on a bike.
Haven't ever seen any traffic splitting here, but I see lots of cars driving down the hard shoulder...I always have to resist the urge to turn into their "lane" [LOL]
Aw I thought you were serious...
I've always wanted to fly a helo.
Back in 2004, my senior year in high school, I managed to arrange a flight for my class on board some Hueys at the Army NG at Buckley AFB :D
I have a game on my phone that lets me do that.... I die a lot :p
I probably wouldn't do the lane splitting thing anyways.... some dumb a$$ would swing a door open and kill me. [Coffee]
I was lane splitting and had a guy open then close his door in front of me to stop me from doing it. So I obliged him. I stopped right next to his rolled down drivers window, flipped my visor up and asked him how he was doing this fine day. The guy was pasty white at this point and shaking a bit. I leaned down a bit more so I could see his female passenger and asked her how she was doing as well. Neither of them ever actually responded to me. Just sat there, pasty white and shaking.
Thing is, I never raised my voice or said a mean thing. I was totally polite the entire time. Didn't even mention the door.
Lane splitting is not legal in Colorado, and like the other guy said only legal in Cali, and even in Cali the cars can't be in motion if I remember correctly. I used to do that when I was young and stupid living in las vegas, split a set of cars upwards of 120 (not sure of speed because I was racing and was to busy dodging cars to look down), I would DARE do that crap anymore.
We used to mess with the CAT busses (Citizens Area Transit), ride alongside them and bang on the door while it was in motion. Scares the crap out of the drivers. Stuipd Stuipd Stupid things.
When the cars are directly side by side its fairly safe, it is when they are stagered one infront of the other but in differnt lanes that its dangerous, one might try to change lanes to get out of your way in a panic and shut the door on you. In the really slow traffic just watch the tires, don't watch anything else but thier front tires, you'll see them turn before the rest of the car, this ONLY works at very low speed traffic jam type stuff.
Here is how you do it in russia, lmao, future greasy spot...

There you go lead_magnet.
Splitting lanes with oncoming traffic is a trip. I get dizzy just watching it.
