saturday at the Aurora Gun Club.
come one, come all
have a good time.
bring a rifle, pistol and shotgun and ammo to match (make sure you bring about 10 slugs too)
high speed equipment not required!
what time?
Check in usually around 0845.
Shooters meeting starts 0900.
Show up early to help setup if you want.
Showing up early *and* helping is highly recommended. Not only do the old heads appreciate it, but you can learn something about how to shoot a stage at the same time.
Sometimes if not enough people show up to help, they just start whenever the stages are set up. If thats 9:30 or 10:30, no matter.
AND.....(IIRC) if you show up early AND help set up, you'll get a discount
I was thinking about coming out and watching, but I can come out and help do some setup, will have to see what morning fun the better half has planned before I can commit.
Dont come and watch, if you have the guns bring 'em and come shoot. That away you can do both, watch and shoot.
yep, you'll have plenty of time to watch.Quote:

there are usually 4 different stages to shoot.
(stage = scenario)
the number of people who plan on shooting is divided up into 4 equal groups (sometime 3, if there is not too many people showing up)
each of those groups goes and shoots a differnt stage. when they are done with a stage they go to the next one.
you'll be able to see others go through the stage before you. and if you're a newbie we'll take extra care to see you through.
this is not a high pressure experince, it's pretty laid back and social. SAFETY is always a key factor!
bring your stuff, come out and have fun :)
And dont worry about people giving you a hard time because you are new. I have never seen that happen yet. Everyone is friendly and helpfull.
Now if you mess up and one of us happen to spot it, you can bet there will be a few jokes made on the board about it. [abused] [abused]
No shotty and honestly, not enough time to stay the whole day- Something about an aniversary the GF said was important  . But I think I will come out and help in the morning and watch a little.
Is that gangspeak for shotgun...?Quote:

Well the ride was good..... and windy..... and snowy.
It was snowing in Fairplay when we got there so we turned around and came back.
How was the shoot?
was ok.. but we only had 14 show up today.
nice weather which turned windy for a spell then calmed down a bit.
so, why was the rifle stage not scored for everyone?
what happened?
details.

I was in Palisade working the wine festival yesterday or I would've been there. I'll look forward to the next match, though.
I have exchanged some emails with those involved..
there was an "incident" at the rifle range (if you were there you know what it was (no one was hurt/injured in any way) and it was deemed by RM3G to stop using it to appease the AGC staff.
I know the Aurora Gun Club is having issues with competitive shooting events that arent trap.
Good thing Alan and his gang are starting matches in Clear Creek.
