I don't wanna screw up... but can I carry at the Taste of Colorado? I have never carried in or aroud Denver and I'm not 100% sure what I can / cannot do down there. Should I error on the side of caution and leave it in the car?

My god please don't. Carrying a pistol openly in that crowd? Insanity.
I was assuming he meant concealed. Did the OP mean open carry? In Denver?
If you're CCing then I don't see a problem.
I mean concealed. I can't remember Denver's crazy laws and didn't wanna do something stupid
Alrighty then. Sorry- I've been rolling with the Open Carry discussion today and didn't differentiate.
you gunna be there today hawk?
So what do ya think? Yes or no?!? I'm getting close!!!
I've never felt unsafe downtown in the daytime. Just leave it in the car and enjoy yourself. [Beer]
The website says no weapons allowed. Which is why I wont be going. :-)
Here now! As is all of Denver's finest.... And not so finest
So if your planning on carrying what for? Don't like the taste of blah blah so shoot it... LOL
I wasted money once at the taste.. never again.
Man i would never go down to caphill are without one...
Im with monkey on this one, use to work at ING and we would always go...some of its good but alot of its not.
that will be the one and only time we ever go
Not going this year but I always carry down there...
Everything went well...man... I forgot how expensive it is and how much fun people watching is!!! There are some strange people roaming the streets of Denver.
If anybody knows the chick that was strutting around in the hot pink fishnet shirt and pants, tell her, "don't wear 8 inch, white Stilleto heels, they totally ruined the outfit![Puke]
I about spit my fried alligator all over the thug in his all red threads and neon green nikes!!! WTF?!?
Please correct me if I'm wrong but aren't guns and alchohol not good together? I thought bars were off limits for ccw and to me this would fit in the same catagory. It may read as sarcasm but I'm actually asking because I don't know. Since it was pointed out that weapons weren't allowed I figure that would end the discussion anyway.
On the broader personal safety point I agree with not going places where you think you need a gun. I'm also sure that public security is upped a bit for big events like this.
I've seen people get patted down there, but they were young thug looking guys. I saw that and put my piece away. Then when I came back, I was carrying my daughter on my shoulders and they let me right through.
I'm always armed, 100% of the time. I also drink occasionally, like at the BBQ I was at yesterday. You haven't seen any news reports about me yet.
IMO, if you aren't responsible enough to stick to your limits with some drinks, you probably aren't responsible enough to carry a weapon.
I've heard bars are "gun-free zones" but as we all know, if criminals followed the laws then they wouldn't be criminals.
I work at a place that has a bar in it, with a very strict "no weapons" policy for the employees. I just got home from work, and I sit here in my work clothes with my BUG and a spare mag, a 4.75" folder, and a 2" push blade... all completely concealed, all very simply, easily, and quickly accessible.
Concealed is concealed. YOU and ONLY YOU are responsible for your own safety and well being.
Also, in response to your second paragraph... I avoid the not so nice places as much as possible, but occasionally its necessary to go to these areas. Don't let some criminal scum limit you in accomplishing whatever it is you need to do. There's a reason you carry that gun.
If I work where you think I work... don't bother. Not worth it whatsoever. Everything there is stupid expensive compared to the same exact shit at other places. That, and I swear I work with a bunch of f*cking 13 year olds, they're all immature drama-whores. The only reason I'm still there is because I only have to put up with it for another 8 weeks and then I can get the hell out of here.
Well, I see that you're in Centennial, so I don't think it is the same place.
I work less than a mile from where I live, so if its not in Centennial then no probably not.
What place are you thinking of?
Some movie theater in Westminster that serves alcohol. I think it is called Cinnebar or something.
Never heard of it
There are NO statutory restrictions in Colorado for carry in establishments that serve alcohol. Period.
My fiance and I are going to ride our bikes down to the Taste. Should be enjoyable. Don't have my permit yet so I won't be carrying (a gun anyway.)
While it appears that it is legal to CCw in a bar, it is probably not the best idea because you are likely to take a drink, and that's not good.
I don't see a problem concealing your gun.
Reminds me of one time i went to elitches carrying. They had metal detectors that are bolted down, and i was already past the one way pass through thingy so i couldn't just turn around. I said the hell with it, went though... BEEP!!! Showed my CCW and attempted to explain i forgot, and I am licensed to carry. Those rent a cops just flagged me along like i was showing him my badge or something! Needless to say I still left... Was not going to be there with that kind of security.
