Fuckin' California...
A "Fundamental Right"???
I can't imagine the economic chaos this would cause to an already shattered real estate industry.
Freakin California is right.
This is probably an ignorant question, but here goes;
What isn't a fundamental right to a liberal?
It seems like the attitude is, if I want it, it's my fundamental right to have it.
Good point...
The only thing I'd add is:
If I want it for someone else, it's my fundamental right to take it from you to give to someone else.
You forgot one thing Bailey:
If I don't like it you can't have it either.
I'm not a big fan of banks, but this is going to keep a lot of banks out of CA.
It is a real good time to go buy a house in CA though.
What I hate the most is those stupid liberals moving out here!
This is wrong on so many levels. It will actually make it harder for people to buy a house.
Totally socialist idea, from a totally socialist state. Free homes for all! Why be burdened with something like a "home payment" - hmph, I, as an American, have a RIGHT to own a home FREE OF CHARGE to along with my free health insurance and government handouts. I have the RIGHT to not work yet be as equally rewarded as those stinking rich people who never pay taxes anyway.
Marxism at its best!
Passage of this bill would probably take foreclosure to the federal level. Federal judge would order eviction. Federal marshals would evict the tenant, then auction the house.
Why? Because banks are federally insured. They are NOT insured by the state. Federal law supercedes state law...
Every time I think people in California have met they maximum level of stupid they push the knob to 11
I would like to propose a ballot initiative here in Colorado to amend the Colorado Constitution making it illegal for Californians to own property, take up residence or vote within the state of Colorado.
I made it all the way to "Fundamental Right" and stopped reading.
That is ridiculous...what portion of the US Constitution could possibly be misconstrued to say that home ownership is a fundamental right?
I know that is for the California Constitution and sadly it's just that easy to have a state constitutional amendment added by a bunch of people voting wanting something for nothing.
What is going to happen to California? Seriously?
Wow...it's like they looked back and said "hey, what fucked everything up in the first place? Yeah, let's do that again!"
Not being a conspiracy theorist, I believe it's more of "I hate America, what else can I do to destroy her?". I do honestly believe that his one and only goal is to destroy this country.
We are on the bow of our sinking ship, so someone grab the flag.
- You must undergo an extensive libtard test administered by Newt
- You Must be able to describe in detail the differences between a weapon clip and a weapon Magazine and be able to point out a barrel shroud, describe its function and differentiate it from "That thing that flips up"
- You must NOT be a registered democrat or have voted for a democrat since moving to Colorado.
- You must not say "Like" more than once in any given sentence.
- you must have references from no less than 10 Colorado natives.
- cannot own a car with a green leaf or the word "hybrid"
- There is a 20 year probation
Oh well, I'm staying anyway
Here's the part that illustrates just how flawed the thinking of these people is:They don't realize the bank LOSES on most foreclosures. They're already out the money they fronted you buy the house and typically don't get all of that back between your payments and how much they get from the sale of the house.Quote:
If enacted, the initiative would state a finding that “foreclosure has become a method of increasing a lending institution, loan servicer, mortgagee, trustee and beneficiary’s bottom line and profits by turning borrowers out of their homes.”
Typical, foolish, illogical, mushy brained thinking from California. Makes me even more ashamed I was born there. My only defense is my dad was a Marine and my birth there wasn't by choice!
actually under the recent TARP program and the federal bailout it makes the bank MORE money.
They get to tack on administrative costs and the ORIGINAL value of the house as where originally they could only get resell value... which was causing banks to invert due to plummeting housing values
Easy fix for that one, once the law passes all house purchases will just have to be cash purchases. There isn't a bank in the world that would guarantee a 300k+ home loan unsecured. Although if it's going to pass, I may just have to buy some investment property....
