Our Economy In A Nutshell

-
some of you may have seen this, my dad just sent it to me, put it out there pretty plain eh,

John Smith started the day early having set hisalarmclock
(MADE IN JAPAN )
for 6 am ..

While his coffeepot

(MADE IN CHINA)

was perking, he shaved with his

electric razor

(MADE IN HONG KONG)

He put on a

dress shirt

(MADE IN SRI LANKA),

designer jeans

(MADE IN SINGAPORE)

and

tennis shoes

(MADE IN KOREA)

After cooking his breakfast in his new

electric skillet

(MADE IN INDIA)

he sat down with his

calculator

(MADE IN MEXICO)

to see how much he could spend today. After setting his

watch

(MADE IN TAIWAN )

to the radio

(MADE IN INDIA )

he got in his car

(MADE IN GERMANY )

filled it with GAS

(from Saudi Arabia )

and continued his search

for a good paying AMERICAN JOB.

At the end of yet another discouraging

and fruitless day

checking his

Computer

( made in MALAYSIA ),

John decided to relax for a while.

He put on his sandals

(MADE IN BRAZIL ),

poured himself a glass of

wine

(MADE IN FRANCE )

and turned on his

TV

(MADE IN INDONESIA ),

and then wondered why he can't

find a good paying job

in AMERICA

AND NOW HE'S HOPING HE CAN GET HELP FROM A PRESIDENT

My coffee is made in an actual percolator that I made out of scrap steel.
My truck was designed by Americans (vehicle by Ford, engine by IH), and manufactured in America.
Almost everything I wear says "Made in USA" on the tag.

It ain't much, but I do what I can. I'll pay more for something made in America.
Unfortunately I can't control where my fuel comes from, I can't find coffee that's made in the USA (suggestions?), and I can only do so much as far as groceries go, but...

Only American coffee that I can think of would be from Hawaii probably. Kona Coffee I think is Hawaii.

make the gun laws apply to everything

Guns are hugely Made in USA even import guns need a certain US parts count. Imported pistols need certain points to get in. Think glocks with target thumb grip. If ever car had a 922r type mandate? I giggle every time I see everything BUT guns coming from china by the ship load.

Minor correction- firearms are hugely ASSEMBLED in the US of A.
Springfield 1911- all but few are out of Imbel - Brazil
Springfield XD and XDM- Croatia
Springfield M1A- receiver castings and components from the Philippines IIRC
Kimber- frames and slide are overseas man. but I don't recall where.
Armscore, Rock Island, Chas Daly 1911's -Philippines
SigSauer- a large percentage of frames and components are out of Germany.
HK- same as Sig
Glock- IIRC frames and components-Austria

As far as the original post-sad but true. It is hard to find anything made in the US anymore.
This is a substantial reason our country is in the crapper economically.
We can thank Clinton for opening the trade avenues for a large portion of it.
The only way we can fix it IMHO is to sock foreign made good with high tariffs to where they are unattractive to purchase.
It would initially be met with quite a bit of resistance as people would not want to pay a higher price than normal for US goods but I really think that most folks would rather pay an extra dollar if it means keeping the US working.
