I'll be praying for you guys!
Good luck. I know the pain of not being able to run the pump. We keep water in basement, some gallon jugs in the pantry and I was fortunate to have a neighbor give me one of those 250 gallon "cubes" to store water in the barn for the animals. I hope you can get the electrical straightened out in short order.
If the problem isn't in your panel, it will be at the transformer that feeds the lines to your house, or in the lines from there to your meter. Call the power company.
Hope it gets fixed quickly for you guys!

Ugh what a pain.
Maybe you should put a nice gas or diesel generator on your Christmas list.

If it is before your meter, it should be the power company's problem to fix. But I know , it sucks until they get out and fix it.
If you need another generator call me, or stop by i will be available after 2:30 I have a 5K with 2-3) 110 and 1)220.
I Don't know much about electrical...
I only know the sound it makes when you do it wrong :)
If you have Tanks, I can bring the truck out and get water

I'm curious now...what happened to the underground line?

So you get charged for the repair ? I take it this is not a public utility service ?

I hope I didn't miss the answer for reading too fast but I'd be willing to bet it was aluminum wire? It's unfortunate they use that a lot for the main run between the meter and the house and it only lasts 20 years or so before something like that happens.
They use aluminum wire to save money . . . . and that was back when copper was CHEAP!! YIKES! If they ever go back to it INSIDE the home, things will be even worse. It only half works for mains because the wire size is so large.

How did they fix it? Did they have to run all new wire from the pole or did they splice it underground?
