The wife informed me she needs more guns (I've got that part covered) and wants a throwing knife for Christmas. Can anyone recommend a good throwing knife?

Check out Gil Hibben throwing knives and they are reasonably priced at
Bud K Knives & Swords
I'd start here.
bladeforums.com Throwing Knives
I've never understood if you only had a knife for protection you'd throw it away.
It takes some skill to be a "knife thrower". JMHO
I would question the motive of a wife wanting a throwing knife[Tooth]
Who's gonna be catching?
My best advice, never throw a tool of survival away! Get a good knife and keep it in your hand.
Basic knife fighting.... never throw your knife!!!.....
it's fun, that's why.
Some of you guys are way to paranoid... to OP, Cold steel makes throwing knives called sure balance for competition throwing. they're a bit heavier but for someone that just wanting to learn to throw a knife, and hit with it they're great and take alot of abuse.
Thanks for all the good advice and comments. The wife is just wanting to learn to throw a knife. She has a CCW and almost always carries. So, she won't be bringing a knife to a gun fight.
I was in the army with a guy who's dad taught him throw knives. Then when he got good, dad would throw him a knife and he would have to catch it and throw it back. When he got good with knives then he had to do the same thing with a hatchet. He was one of those quiet guys that you just didn't want to mess with.
